Any posters going to the Inauguration tomorrow?

1. The public event in Mullins @ 10:30 a.m.?
2. The evening dinner by invitation?

No, but I went to Chancellor Lombardi's Inaugural Ball and it was one heck of an event. If folks are going, enjoy!

The U really knows how to put on an event when it wants to, that's for sure.

Was sick w bug and almost couldn't but PA at urgent care in FL 2 days ago, nice professional from Hanson MA got me on med w clearance to fly.
We went to the one in the Rec Center.
Was that t one you went to?

Still no plans to go to Vegas to see Berkman, Jr.
(Kidding; Fran Berkman, IMO, represents the best re UM Athletics fans), as does Brian IV.

Gazette write-up on the no-confidence vote for Reyes: https://www.gazettenet.com/No-confidenc ... s-55225556

It's a good read. Reyes put out a solid statement after the vote, Meehan said he still completely supports him, and there were a number of issues with the voting process.

I support the chancellor 100%. These students and agitators violated direct instructions and code and created an unsafe, hostile environment for the rest of the students. They should be prosecuted. Plus the chancellor should not be swayed by a vocal one sided and often misinformed and misguided group. I had mostly terrific professors at UMass in the early/mid 90's but many of these are out of touch, Other "national universities" could take a lesson from our chancellor. My main priorities in college were fun, watching the Hoops teams unprecedented success, trying not to get shot down from many co-eds, and a good buzz with my friends. And occasionally studying. In no order. It's a shame.

"That said, UMass is my home, and my commitment to this university remains unwavering,” Reyes said. “I am fully dedicated to our shared mission and more energized than ever to advance and transform this community for the greater good.”

Who is he kidding? If he got the job, he would have been outta here.

That’s embarrassing for UMass. We have a new chancellor that doesn’t even want to be here. West Virginia is more desirable than Massachusetts? Give me a break..

Another no-confidence in Reyes vote from UMass employees. I believe this happened last year as well. Add in his interest in other jobs early in his tenure and this guy's got to go, hopefully taking Bamford with him.

At first, I was really excited because he appeared to show an interest in athletics. I realize now that it was just surface level social media posting and window dressing. He doesn't care and should leave town as soon as possible.

athletics aside, there was also this-

Other student and faculty organizations have also cast no-confidence votes, some in response to the 132 arrests in ending the pro-Palestinian encampment in May 2024."

I have to say, I wish he acted to end the pro terrorist activities sooner rather than later.
