She is special and deserves her own thread. She was A10 player of the week for last week, her 5th time winning the award.

Now I have some good news. I was told by a person affiliated with the women's BB program that Sam has another year of eligibility. I asked if I could share this information was given the OK. Nothing is 100%, but there is a good chance she is coming back.

^ She made it clear in a tweet a while ago that she had this year and another. She didn't address whether she would use it or not.

Yes, that's not new information, but I'm always happy to hear it again! Opportunity for a couple of very special years here.

^ I hadn't heard it before so I had my moment of happiness. So if I read the roster correctly, Destiny should have a year left also since this is her 4th year. Same with Smith. It looks like the only player in her 5th year is Pruitt.
If this is the case the team should actually be better next year as some of the freshmen make the jump from year 1 to year 2.

^ She is a grad student this year. Maybe she will have that Masters degree (in "Media and Technology") and ESPN offers their current starting salary of $50,000/year.
Preecher - I have no idea, but life ain't all about hoops!

I was being sarcastic but looking at her numbers she does have a legit shot to play in europe. If she can get a contract I would leave!!!

I hope she stays and cements her legacy with many, many records at UMASS. Never met her but she seems to be a good kid (as do many of the players on the team) and a credit to UMASS!

I've met her a couple of times. The last time was at a men's BB game. She's down to earth, friendly and willing to talk to an old guy. What more can you say?

This writer's opinion on POY in each conference. He also does women's bracketology for ESPN so he follows WBB pretty closely.
