Ken O'Brien becomes Coach Emeritus ans assistant coach Jackson takes over as head coach.

Sounds like a pseudo retirement. Pretty cool title he is getting.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

I heard a rumor that Ken O'Brien will be coaching cross country again this year, following a failed search for a new XC coach. Can anyone in the know confirm?

Yes, KOB will be coaching XC this year. Track donaters/alumni got an email confirming this like two weeks ago.
