Post by harbo » Sun Jun 19, 2016 11:59 pm

Just some random musings for you to decipher.
Here are six sets of numbers which have some meaning in the world of sports. Can you identify them?

70-65-66-69-270
64-66-70-70-270

$785,900 (1914-1932)

$37,500 (1967)
$15,000,000 (2016)

1:56 (1930)
2:30 (1970)
3:02 (2010)

30.14 - 15.82 (1967 - 2016)

Among NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB teams,
only 38, 48, 59, 62, 64, 67, 68, 69, 83, 84, 93, 94, 95, 97, 98 (out of 1-99)

Retarded artistically. Idiotic in other respects.

The Babe's total salary for those years.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Old Cage and Tman are both right. That was the Babe's base salary, but the web page I got that from said he got somewhere around one million with incentives and World Series games. I was surprised with how many retired numbers there are. I wonder if the St. Louis Browns retired Eddie Gaedel's number 1/8? ScottO is on track with the golf scores, but what's special about these particular ones?

I'm gonna say Tiger's Masters win in like 98 or 97 whenever he dominated and Spieth's win last year when he dominated. Or Spieth's win last year vs Nicklaus' first Master's win.
