UMASS just can't win!

Post by KahunaK » Sat May 21, 2016 8:34 pm

Great response from Kevin Cullen of the Boston Globe on the Pioneer Institute report on UMASS. Until recently, all the private universities had their way in MA., but now the tide has turned and they are whining. President Meehan is the perfect guy to be the head of the University. Takes a stand and goes right after UMASS' critics. GO UMASS!

Here is Swamy's response- Love the guy

Here is a previous hack job from PI form 9/2015-

An a 2013 report that shows Massachusetts cut funding for public higher education more than all but 6 states- an embarrassment for the state-

Saw the article title in my Google News feed and gave it the hardest of eye rolls.. Glad to see it was actually a pretty well written defense of the U. Great comments from Marty throughout the article.

When parents complain that state U is too hard to get into, they usually mean they just learned their kid can't get into what they assumed would be a safety school their kid was too good for.

From what i can tell, it's always parents, not HS students who complain about selectivity.

You can't please everybody, and the pioneer institute sounds like a good group to cheese off.
