Wow, three 20 win season and a return to the dance. This post right here is the definition of moronic.jrdupe wrote:is anyone going to be that upset if he leaves? yes he got us back to the tourney but he looked like a deer in head lights last Friday and he is not a good X's and O's guys. he is a very good recruiter but if I'm ranking A-10 coaches, he isn't even in the top 5. Umass will be above average while he is here...they will be competitive in the A-10 but they will never make a run in the NCAA's. Many people here will be upset if he leaves, but in my opinion they will never be anything more than they were this year as long as he's the head coach. If you guys are happy peaking on December 15th, then let's keep him. For me, that's not good enough...and it shouldn't be for everyone else here either.
so your happy winning 20 games but losing by 20 in back to back post season appearances? I'm sorry, but just making the dance isn't good enough. it kills me to watch Dayton in the sweet 16 with a really good chance right now to go to the elite 8 when we were a much better team than they were. We did not come to play against GW in the A-10 tourney and we certainly weren't ready to play Tennessee...if you want to blame the players, that's fine, but IMO, that's on the head coachElGuapo Hoy wrote:Wow, three 20 win season and a return to the dance. It kills you? How about you educate yourself on Dayton. A team that travels charter planes to every game while our team sits in airports waiting for connecting flights. A team that sells out almost every game (13,000) they play at home while we are a Top 25 program and can't even fill half of our arena. Dayton fans should have expected more and this year it's finally coming to fruition for them. But they have not been a model of success either.jrdupe wrote:so your happy winning 20 games but losing by 20 in back to back post season appearances? did you think Dayton was better than Umass this year? if the answer is NO, than it should kill you too to watch a team that I feel was not as good as Umass beat teams that are better than them, while we get blown out and embarrassed on national TV. did anyone hear what John Thompson said about them last Friday? He called them undisciplined, unprepared, lazy, and not a very good team...he said there is no excuse to be this unprepared for an NCAA tournament game and for that he blames the head coach! Pretty sure he knows a thing or two about coaching.ElGuapo Hoy wrote:It kills you? How about you educate yourself on Dayton. Your stance is one of a typical uneducated fan. Take the Cal years out and what is there for UMASS? Some good runs with Jack and what? I prefer to think we finally have a coach who is bringing a winning mentality and building a foundation for consistency in the future. This is what needs to happen here for us to be successful year in and year out. Your view is one that is simplistic and uneducated.
could be, but unfortunately he described us to a TCrank wrote:^Thompson projecting a bit of his frustration with his son's NCAA performances of the last few years perhaps?
