I know I'm dragging up subject that have likely been beaten to death here, but isn't that what message boards are for?

I listen to a mix of WEEI and 98.5 during the day and I'm baffled/pissed about how WEEI completely ignores UMass in their sports flashes on a day like today when our state U, the #21 team in the land, has a huge conference road game. Syracuse, BC and Harvard get brought up every single sports flash and it's probably safe to assume the flash guy is a BC/Cuse grad. A switch over the the competition at 98.5 and sure enough, their update includes mention of UMass's game tonight.

Clearly WEEI has been poorly managed. Does that account for their ignorance the # of UMass grads in the area that would be interested in their alma mater being mentioned on a quick update? Don't know but I wish them well on their spiral down the drain. F WEEI, F Syracuse, and F BC. Go UMass!

Boston Bert is a big reason for Umass talk on 98.5 updates.

Does the EEI outlet in Springfield do their own flashes, or do WMass folks have to listen to the Boston crap?

105.5 WEEI in Springfield has all of the Boston feed except for some overnight stuff, 6-6:45pm on Fridays during the winter when Donnie Moorhouse does a local hockey show(lot's of UMass Hockey talk), Celtic games(which they actually take the 98.5 feed), Saturday mornings from 7-9am which is reserved for two local shows, and any UMASS basketball or Football game.

ESPN's Jeff Goodman will be on Mut and Merloni today at 11:30 to talk college basketball. Will be interesting to see if we hear anything about the state university.

Mutnansky is a uCon grad so you'll probably hear a lot about the cons.

Which makes the radio deal we signed a couple of years ago even dumber. Pure stupidity, just lazy and shortsighted. What good was signing that deal with EEI when their flagship station doesn't carry any games? BS claims about network coverage, affiliates etc is a bunch of crap, the deal brings nothing better to the table. They would have been better off making individual deals.

I guess it's too much to expect a preview of today's game in the Globe..

Also, Gerry Callahan is a loser. I didn't realize he was a Umass alum.

Not defending the Globe, but they rarely do previews of regular season college hoop games. They do have a story on Whipple today. And Callahan is definitely a jerk.

There's really no talent left at WEEI. Merloni is pretty good, but all he knows is baseball.

Did you listen to WEEI when BC beat Cuse? The discussion on Dennis and Callahan was that it may be the biggest upset in the HISTORY of college basketball.

I was wating for the "Oh by the way, did you know that UMass' final four appearance was vacated?"
