Game 8, 2013-14: BYU (Springfield)

Post by Marty Peretz » Tue Dec 03, 2013 9:00 pm

It's finally here. Be there. Just friggin go. I'm there plus one and convinced a buddy to go too. He's bringing four. So I'm in plus 6.

The place simply has to be ELECTRIC. We gotta pack it and be loud as hell.

Still lots of seats available.

Hopefully ticket sales pick up now that we are only a few days away. I'm sure there will be plenty of walk-ups too. Bring a friend! Or 2!

EDIT: Great minds think alike, IV!

If you're doing the walk up thing, I'd get there early. There are a bunch of seats left now, but even those ones are in the end zone and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a sellout. Also, I think you can avoid the absurd fees if you buy in person at the Mullins box office (but don't quote me on it).

My recommendation for drinks before or after. This place is right next door to the MMC and decent size.

I'm hoping a number next to our name and a still perfect record should help to fill up the arena in Springfield!

Also, for anyone interested in getting a peak at BYU... they are playing now against North Texas. They provide a great quality stream here for FREE: http://www.byutv.org/watch/livetv

It was still a "maybe" when I saw it earlier, but I'd have to imagine after tonight that the demand will pick up quickly.

UMass will outdraw the #1 UConn women's team that beat Ohio St in Springfield Sunday night. That game only drew 1,134, if you can believe that.

That's amazing seeing as they sell out the XL Center 30 minutes down the road. Strange. Or that website that voted Springfield the worst city in the country did a lot of damage. And Hartford was #2.

That's all?? It looked like more on TV, although it defintely wasn't close to filled. If that's what 1,134 looks like I'd hate to know the actual number most Springfield Armor games are when they claim to have 1500+ at almost every game.

Everyone's excited for this one, but who else is actually attending? If we don't sell it out, I'll be disappointed. Or at least come within a few hundred of a sellout.

^^ I thought the crowd looked bigger on TV too, so I went looking for a box to get the number. The box I linked to is the "official" one.

The end zones were empty and there weren't many people in the upper portion of the upper portion of the arena either.

Regardless, UMass will definitely outdraw Sunday's game.

I'm looking forward to the game!
