The game summed our season with tons of unforced errors, mental breakdowns, and pathetic shooting (especially around the basket). Oh well...

It wasnt just the loss of Fernandes and Cross/Luis for a few games each, but a disheartening regression by several players. Sure, if Fernandes doesnt get hurt they probably win 20 and wouldnt have been playing today, but those are the breaks.

I dont expect that many guys to be returning for next year.

Last years team played very hard in the A10 tournament and did well despite the fact that Coach McCall had already been fired. What does todays performance say about how the players feel about Coach Martin?

just a detail in the gigantic shit show today that cemented the losing record for the season, but Dyondre looked like he never came all the way back from whatever illness kept him out vs URI. Was OK at Duquesne (one of his better road games despite the loss), but before that illness he was very high in FG% and over 42% from 3. Only made 1 of his last 7 of the year, none today even with open looks. Reminds me of Noah early in the year saying off-season injury kept him from shooting a good % early on. Getting in that shooting groove can be elusive.

I'm with those saying this is probably the most disappointing season ever, particularly going 1-8 in the last 9 vs only 1 quality opponent (Dayton). I wouldn't say it's the worst season because of early season success. Hard to believe the team that started 7-1 would finish this way.

I was forgiving of the regular season losses because of the injuries and was hoping they were just prepping for the post-season, but not even competing in this is BS.

What an inappropriate, classless comment. The kid always gave 100% and should be respected for his dedication while wearing the UMass uniform despite his offensive deficiencies.
Agree 100%. Classless comment.

Interesting box score. We scored 53 in the second half. I'll take a 53 point half tomorrow (either half will do).
Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself. I should have said a 53 point game.

That game was awful.

Let the rumor mill begin on returning players.

Hoping we go after Ledlum.

in the post season the coaches do not speak to local media - I always remember back in the Cal days Bruiser or Bayno would do the interviews

FWIW in the postgame press conference RJ talked about coming back stronger with Frank next year and building the program to go further in the A10 Tournament. Hope that wasn't just lip service.

Least enjoyable team/coaching ever for me at UMass. At least Ray Wilson was a a nice person who's son gave me free tickets to games. :)

This game reminded me a lot of the Ray Wilson era. Over by half time and just waiting around to see if the walkons will score.

So much for playing on the name on the front of the jersey. The team represented itself poorly yesterday, both in terms of the university and themselves as players.

Best quote came from UMass' best player this season...
RJ wrote:“We weren’t playing like how we’re supposed to,” UMass freshman RJ Luis said. “I don’t really think there’s any positives to be honest.”
