That video reminds me a lot of Djery Baptiste, if Baptiste was about 2 inches taller and had longer arms.

uz2b-len, I'm with you. UMass needs to do everything it can to get reinforcements for Tre. Losing TJ hurt, and I'm optimistic about the current signees. Might need one more impact player, along with an interior defender/rebounder.
Hima was at the game...every bit of 7'0 too! and after just watching videos of him, he's not rail thin like I thought he was. I think he would be a more than serviceable backup for Tre. Also see URI, St. Bonnies, VCU have offered so the fact he was on campus for at least 2 days if not 3 seems encouraging...if I'm not mistaken he was on campus Thursday for the visit and decided to stick around a couple more days...not sure you do that if you hate the place.
I'm not sure if this video has been posted before and I can't vouch for the level of competition, but Hima is pretty athletic and doesn't look bad taking jump shots. It's only 1 video so take it with a grain of salt.
Class of 2020
#23
6'11 Center
Offers from VCU, Rhode Island, Umass , St. Bonaventure, Robert Morris
Interest from Western Kentucky, Charlotte

So the team they are going up against is Roselle catholic who are one of the best teams in NJ. The center is cliff Omoruyi who we recruited way back but has offers from and is likely choosing between Kentucky and Rutgers

^Think he will end up going to Arizona State.

Is Noah Fernandes hurt? Wichita State blew out Tulsa today and everyone got some PT in today except for him..

Not good news for Noah and I'm not sure how it affects his future.
Could be out for season
March 8, 2020
Fernandes (foot) will not play in Sunday's game against Tulsa and could miss the remainder of the season, Taylor Eldridge of The Wichita Eagle reports.
ANALYSIS
Fernandes will miss his third consecutive contest Sunday, and now it's looking like a real possibility that the freshman's season is over. Look for Jamarius Burton, Ty Etienne and Grant Sherfield to continue to see increased minutes in Fernandes's absence.
Edit: Found a little more. This could be chronic and that concerns me regarding his recruitment. Maybe it's nothing, but 2 injuries to the same foot bears watching.

Marshall won't specify, but it's a foot injury. Not the same one that Fernandes had in the summer, but to the same foot.

If Femi comes I don’t think they should take Fernandes unless more guys are leaving (than the 3 more we are currently speculating will leave). Really wish Noah had come as a freshmen with the rest of this class.

^ I agree that we only need 1 and I obviously hope it's Femi. Here are stats from their win over Woodstock the other day in the P5 championship game. I couldn't find Woodstock stats. I'll take 19 and 11 from our PG any time.

It could also be a really minor thing that he'd normally play though, but Noah is choosing to sit out, or Wichita is choosing to sit him - either could be influenced if he's planning on transferring.

^ I watched most of the 2nd half, I'm still not sure if Garcia is a PG, but he looked very good.

What draws your concern, Niles, ball handling? Passing? Court vision? Other???

Re: 2020 Recruiting

^ Not a concern at all, more of a lack of evidence. Brewster is so loaded with talent that Garcia didn't have the ball in his hands much, so I can't say with any conviction if he's a PG or not.

His defensive ability is evident though, he had a ridiculous block coming out of nowhere on a transition layup..

I'm pretty sure his career as a whole so far says hes a pg or at least one of the primary ball handlers. From all indications he has more of a complete game than any current guard on our roster
