You may be right, Steve. I'm not a coach, scout or talent evaluator, I'm just a dope with a keyboard. I actually think it might be beneficial to have K'Jei with the second unit to run the offense and have a shooter out there. There's enough offense in the first unit with Banks, Bettiol, and DHS, so K'Jei could be really valuable adding some shooting to the Clerc, Wimbley, Damjanac, Placide/Brown group.

Juice, is there really even a " second unit"? Seems like , except for the starters, there's always different lineups. Do they mix & match in practice or have two consistent units?

A hill I'll die on is that making shots is good. He told us they would shoot, then bitched when they did. Mixed and ineffective messaging in my opinion.

Happy Thanksgiving!
The two who lost minutes were K’Jei and Wembly. I actually do agree with him. The CCSU game was won by shooting lights out in the first half. Making shots matters. If the offense is predicated on positioning for when shots aren’t falling and offensive boards and defensive positioning matter, then taking random shots is a bad habit to get into. The two games where shooting fell off we lost. Way too many fast breaks for GB and Charleston that come from out of position guards/small forward etc. when our level is superior the games shouldn’t be close. CCSU should not have been the way it was. I think DHS has also been out of sorts.

Hope your Thanksgiving was grand!

I meant second unit in a generic sense, the first group off the bench. It has been very much mix and match, with Wimbley in that group initially and now not so much, Brown buried for some reason, and even getting Rollie some time. Is it matchup dependent, is it who Frank isn't pissed off at on that particular day, I don't know. Like I've said, I love our starting 5+1 (Parker/Carbuccia), and after that they need to find somebody to consistently step up.

Yeah buddy! I just polished off a day-after T-day sandwich and am nodding off with some college basketball & football on in the background. This is the good stuff.

By random do you mean bad, forced shots or just who's taking them?

For me, a bad shot can be a few things.
1. Not understanding the game situation/time on the shot clock. (See Daniel Rivera)
2. A player taking a shot he's not good at. (See my post in another thread about 3 guys who are 3/30 from three and should not take 3's)
3. Taking a contested shot when somebody else is open. (Some call it "hero ball")

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying the leftovers!

Hope you are as well! Those are the three areas I would say count as random/bad shots. I will also add being out of position/flow of the offense leaving either a hole on the transition defense or limiting offense rebounding chances. If two guys, same position are in the same space that is usually bad.
