Welp, after that disaster, top 4 is completely out of the picture in my opinion. Luckily, St Joe's did us a solid and lost at Duquesne. We'll see if Davidson can knock off the Bonnie's.
Davidson got hosed.

It looks like the top 4 are set (Dayton, Richmond, Loyola, VCU). It also looks like 5-8 are set for the single bye (SBU, UMass, GMU, SJU) with URI and Duq. fighting for the 9th spot and last single bye. That's assuming that teams win the games that they should win. We know that doesn't always happen. We HAVE to do no worse than 3-2 in the last 5 and a win over SBU is our biggest game.
Here's where we are in the 5-8 chase:
SBU (7-6) @ La Salle, @UMass, Loyola, @GW, SLU
UMass (7-6) SBU, VCU, @GW, @Dav, Fordham
GMU (6-6) Dayton, @Loyola, @Fordham, Duq, @URI, Richmond
SJU (6-7) GW, @VCU, Fordham, @Richmond, Davidson

Finishing 8th is really the same as finishing 9th, so it's more about can you make 7th so your first tournament game is vs a team that played the day before. Although often the team finishing 9th is sweating dropping to 10th and playing the first night. SJU has 7 losses so far, but URI only 6 (same as UMass; either might have a tiebreaker vs UMass, depending on games to come). With results like yesterday's anything can happen, although it does seem like the double-byes are set. There will be upsets from some of those bottom teams, as we saw yesterday.

Saw the end of that game and the OT. What a strange ending

“Strange” is an understatement. Davidson’s Kochera hit a game tying 3 at the end of overtime, and was fouled. As he steps to the line to attempt to win the game, the refs review the play. They determine that it wasn’t a 3 AND there was no foul! Game over. Bonnie’s win. Watch that result come back to bite us in the ass.

I now expect a 12-6 finish and believe VCU is likely to lose two more, which makes us the 4 seed. 9 more wins to UCONN game...

4 games tonight. losses by the Bonnies and GM would leave Umass alone in 5th in the loss column.
Dayton is now ranked 16. Hoping they win out in the regular season and get the 1 seed and possibly a top 4 seed in the real tourney.

Lasalle is better than their record. Excellent head coach and a handful of really solid players, just not deep enough. Maybe the Bonnies come in toasted from this loss on Saturday.
Right now Dayton is losing to Mason. Shows that any team in this conference can still hang with just about any other A10 squad.

The URI loss finally gives separation to the standings. Umass now has 2 game cushion from falling to 10th. Current standings could hold up with 1-4 and 5-9 teams.

GMason beats Dayton tonight! Not surprised as GMason is a good, tough team..almost similar to us. Anyhow, Dayton falls to #3 in the standings and will be locked at #3 seed or lower if they lose to Loyola on March 1st as Richmond and Loyola would have the have the tiebreak in a 3-way tie.

Even if you take out 20 points and we squeak by VCU still on the plus side.

I truly believe, pound for pound, we are the second-best team in the A10. Of course, we still have to prove that on the court.
