^^ Good article by Matt V. I feel a little better about the state of the team. May as well clean house with the assistant coaches and start fresh. Let's give it a month and see what the roster looks like then.

Pip kind isn't listed as returning.

^ "According to multiple sources Adam Ginsburg will not return as an assistant coach, meaning the staff will be entirely new."

I'm disappointed in that.

Disagree.

Umass needs to completely clean the table. He managed to get 13 years out of Umass and that is a great run for anyone. MM needs to do this entire thing his way; I don't think it needs to be muddled up with any guy with a "well this is how we used to do it" opinion. The only hold over from the previous administration should be the players and that is it at this point.

All of these guys (like Ginsburg) will end up with another job somewhere - the fact the AG got to stay in one place for so long is an anomalie in and of itself. Assistants are much more transient than HC's so it is time for AG to hang his banner someplace else.

Agreed.. need to change it up.. if anyone was gonna stay I would say Chatman would be the guy because of his relationships with the players. AG is no lose, and I'm not even sure how well liked he was.

I don't know about you or anyone else, but I don't know for sure what ANYONE on the staff did (good or bad). I've heard things and I have suspicions, but I don't know. If McCall/Bamford had wanted to retain someone I'd be fine with it, but if they think the best recourse is to start fresh, then I'm all in favor of it.

My understanding was Adam was retained initially to help DK transition to the HC portion. This was DKs first job as a HC as we all know. With MM having head coach experience his skills are not as valuable. I've heard nothing but nice things about Adam, and wish him well and thank him for the job he did here.

Well - no wonder he was still here - DK never finished the transition

Agree, as a UMass fan I have no interest in bashing any of the previous staff on their way out the door. My interactions with Ginsy over the years have always been great from the first time I met him at his first UMass golf event when he played in our foursome to the last time I talked with him before leaving The Valley.

Edit: Btw, if he needs to improve on anything it's his golf game!

Meet your new Director of Basketball Operations. He will also serve as a temporary Assistant Coach and help with recruiting until the 3rd assistant is named.
