2024 Recruiting
Re: 2024 Recruiting
sure appears to be a walk on/pwo based on what we have so far.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.
Re: 2024 Recruiting
FM mentioned on the podcast he wished MBB had 15 scholarships so he could redshirt 2 developmental players. Looks like he is using these PWO’s for that purpose.

Re: 2024 Recruiting
Hearing from a source that Joe Okla is not on the team - looks like he is simply a student.

^ This was just posted 2 days ago. Very bizarre. If you want, you can skip all of the dunks and just watch the last 10 seconds. We don't have any scholarships left, so if he is going to be on the team it will be as a walk-on or PWO. No mention of him anywhere official.

New 2024 commit! I’ve decided that I will be on the UMass men’s basketball team. No questions will be taken at this time.
Re: 2024 Recruiting
A friend of mine (STH) who follows UMBB, but not as closely as I do, asked me to name the 3 or 4 newcomers who will have the biggest impact this year.
As I thought about it, it's a good question. Who of the 8 will get the most playing time? Who starts in the front court? All good questions.
Here are the 8 newcomers, in alphabetical order. Name your top 4, biggest impact first.
Abdelgowad
Damjanac
Doumbia
Guerengomba
Muhammad
Rivera
Walker
Watson

Re: 2024 Recruiting
My top two are Akil Watson and Nate G. I'm really excited to see what they bring. After them, it's Rivera. I want to see if his rim protection will translate to the A10, and he sounds like an all-out hustle guy. And 4th is probably Malek Abdelgowad. It sounds like they unsuccessfully tried to recruit him previously, and he's the one that actually made the call to Frank to come here this year. He'll need to provide some frontcourt offense to go along with all the shot blockers we picked up.
Re: 2024 Recruiting
I also like Nate and Rivera, but I'm having a hard time figuring out how many minutes they will get. Rivera seems like a wing to me, but Jaylen had that spot last year and Frank loves Jaylen. Nate is a 2 or a 3, so where do his minutes come from? Sool starts at the 2, and we already have a logjam at the 3.

Better to have a log jam than a river of discontent.

I'm with you there Juice. Out of the new guys, these two have my interest the most in what they could bring. Just seem like 2 high energy guys who could be impactfulJuice Stand wrote: Sun Jun 23, 2024 6:26 am My top two are Akil Watson and Nate G. I'm really excited to see what they bring.
