^ He will, but only as a last resort. At one of the radio shows I asked DK about that. First option is a 5th year transfer and then maybe a JuCo. If we don't get either, he is hoping Hines is ready, but that's asking a lot. I doubt that this is news to anyone who reads the board, but that's where we are. He did say that he's hoping that if Hines isn't ready on day one he will be ready after a just a few games. Trust me that DK knows that TB is not the answer. Great kid, but not a starting A10 center.

^ I'm hoping that Holloway can give a solid 10+ minutes a game.

Good news for TBerg and UMass.

The experience will make him a better player and UMass a better team.

He'll get good experience from the time he'll get practicing and playing against decent international competition.

Good pub for UMass as well. 8)

Your joking right? TBerg is a D2 player at best. Every time he entered the game, opponents went at him immediately. Are you the only one that didn't see that?

Agreed he is not very good but I just don't see Kellogg starting a reedy freshman ahead of him nor do I see Kellogg coming up with anyone better through recruiting.

I would hope Kellogg starts his best 5 players, no matter whether freshman or senior!

Tyler Bergantino has been invited to play for the Italian national program’s B team. But the rising senior is battling a leg injury that still needs to be evaluated. His health status will determine whether he accepts the invite.

Is this the first we're hearing about a leg injury? I don't recall anything from earlier.

^ This was the first I had heard of it. Very little seems to be going right this off-season.

He was on my flight to Tampa on May 2nd and was walking fine so either it happened within the last 10 days or it isn't that serious.

I know people criticize T-Berg a lot for his poor play on the court, but it's good to see T-Berg getting recognition for giving back to the community. He seems like a really nice guy. Great work, Tyler!

^ I like that DK has recruited people like TBerg.

I know this is a basketball team and the ability to perform to a high level on the floor is important, but that said, I'm happy to have a quality human being like TBerg representing UMass. 8)

i agree. Plaudits for Tyler. Good guy. Never a problem and helps in community. I root for him. Maybe he will have some personal basketball wins. I would wish for him he had the hands or feet as does Holloway. Maybe hard to get those. Maybe a born thing. Anyway,he can still help the team. He is strong and gives the effort. :P

what would you rather have:

10 T-berg types that are nice guys, do great things in the community and are a 500 team

OR

10 Very talented players who might run astray from the law with petty crimes, but they get into the ncaa tounrey every year

One TBerg type, and the rest can play ball, go to class, and stay out of trouble. If you need thugs to make it to the NCAA's, you are still losing.
