March came in like a lion…UMass went out like a lamb.

This season sucked!

There’s no other way to say it…. :x

I’m sure the MAC is scared shitless as the big bad Minutemen from the A-10 join the conference.

I am really disappointed with the lose. Back in 96 I had an opportunity to go to the final 4. Glad I did. I doubt if we will ever make the NCAA tournament in my lifetime,

We beat this team by over 20 twice this year, but then in crunch time. … very disappointing. Nothing to look forward to.

We finished the season by losing 7 of the last 8.
Ironically, that slide started after we beat La Salle on Feb 9.

Rivera 22 pts (10-17 FG) and 12 boards, but unfortunately was the low on the team in the +/- at -12. That's partially a factor of all the minutes he played (36), but still, it is what it is.

Other minutes and +/- stats
Curry 39 min, -9
Diggins 34, +7
Ndjigue 28, -9
DHS 22, -2
Worthy 19, -8
Shahid 10, +2
Luka 7, -1
Nate 4, -3

With all the maligned UMass coaches since Cal, there's never been one who won zero A10 tournament games. Until now.

I think some of this season's players could be the core of a much improved team (DHS, Curry), and some seem to have great potential, but most can't help get the team to where it should be.

Travis Ford never won a conference tournament* game either. If he had in 2007-2008, they probably would have gone dancing.

Not sure that he has to, but Frank did not come out to give a post-game interview to Jay & Adam on the radio.

There'll be time for sure to sleep on it and do a post-season assessment later. That said, what fans that are still here want to hear that immediate reaction.

They were probably kicking people out of the arena since it was the last game of the day. They're doing postgame press conferences right now:

I doubt that security was in any kind of rush to get people out. Game ended at 7, not midnight, and there's nothing else going on. It's not like they had to start the changeover for hockey.

In Frank's defense though, he might have been obligated to give the league their post-game interview. That just occurred to me.

So in the next few days Frank will meet with each player and advise many of them to leave.

Firing him will never happen. His contact states that if he is fired by UMass for a reason other than for cause, he would be paid 100% of the total value of the contract, plus between $1 million and $4.5 million depending on how early into the contract he is let go. His contract runs through the 28-29 season at over $1m per year so in addition to owing him the value of the contact left which is over $4M, he'd also get close to another $4m on top of that.
Umass isn't paying him $8m+ to leave!

Yeah that would just be a colossal waste of money. Even if the school had it or could raise it.
This season was a massive disappointment but this is fixable by finding the right players in the portal.
Give WBB more money.
