I just tuned in to Toledo vs. Kent State. What an joke. A Tuesday night game in the rain.There are very few people in the stands other than a cold, wet and miserable band. I cannot wait until we escape from this league. Whatever happens cannot be worse than this.

I know, I'm just watching the BGSU vs Akron game (because we need Akron to win) and the Akron defense is really good. Haven't watched the Toledo vs Kent game at all yet.

Akron student section is pretty nice too considering it's really raining hard there.

BGSU is rolling now. Looks like we are going to be officially out of the MAC Championship hunt.

Tuned in and out of the BGSU vs. Akron game in between election results. Honestly, you can use the rain as an excuse all you want but when you see those empty seats on TV it says something about fan enthusiasm in the MAC. In a strange way the unknowns of independent play are starting to look better than the knowns of the MAC.

The MAC took us in when nobody else would have us. And after our inauspicious start in moving up, who are we to badmouth anyone?

I have mixed feelings on the conference, but the MAC saved us from circling the drain in FCS (if their message board is any indication, even many Delaware fans are now bearish on FCS football). Remember, going to FBS as an independent wasn't even an option since you need a conference affiliation to make the jump.

Anyway, now that we are planning to be independent....while it's certainly not ideal, I have to say, the schedule does appear to be a lot more attractive than what we currently have with the MAC. On top of its being of more interest to the fans, I can see it as potentially a better way to audition for other more appealing conferences (AAC, etc.) then by marketing ourselves while staying with the MAC.

Still, I hope we sock it to them and win a championship on our way out next year

Ya, I think bashing the MAC is a little bit ridiculous but I sure do hope UMass wins the MAC next year.
