Regarding the pay for parking, it is clear that the UMass administration has taken up the fight against carbon emissions by incentivizing people to car pool to the game. Simple to meet up at a nearby business establishment and jam seven or eight people into a vehicle for the short trip to the game. It's not like you are jamming a bunch of people into a car to head to a game at St. Bonaventure or something.

When we played South Carolina several years ago I went to the game and had to pay $ 20 and had to park out in the boonies and be shuttled in to the game.

OK, I have renewed my season tickets and paid for parking. But I'm a diehard and am willing to pay the price. However, the decrease in the number of casual fans and single game fans will be huge. I just don't understand the rationale.
Demand for Hockey tickets is somewhat inelastic, as the team is always 'in the hunt'. For basketball it is very elastic and an incentive to just watch on "TV/Streaming". The arena 'juice' is definitely much larger for hockey.

pithy analysis:
"Why is UMass in the MAC? I don't know"
One person loves us and the other say the roster is not an A10 roster and but likes our front court and coach Martin.
Yes short on us, but that is not the point as we are new, but good details on the various teams we don't know.
It is a funny joke by those guys that could strike a nerve with some of you.
They picking us at #8 and #7 by one guy and #4 and finishing #1. UMass is being one guys sleeper. (Did not closely listen as it is 1 hour 40 minutes for the details of the various MAC rankings.) One going is verry high on UMass.
To econo, this is note supply and demand, it is about casual fans coming out if the team is winning at a good clip. Otherwise it's a smaller and smaller nucleus of dedicated fans that fell in the 2.8k range in our last A10 season. Officially 2.7k but UMass did not post attendance for D3 UMass Boston.

Who did that strike a nerve with? I didn't see any commentary from m626t about the post? Please enlighten us, Mr. MAC.

Isaiah responded to the tweet saying he is 23. Looks like Coach has a sense of humor.

Do we have any secret scrimmages coming up or are all of our scrimmages the two publicly known ones against Rhode Island colleges?

I don't think so^
I believe the maximum is two preseason games, one can be substituted by closed scrimmage.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm always hoping for a lot more talk on what Frank sees in certain players. We get 5 minutes of that and a bunch of nonsense (in my opinion).

I agree and he speaks about them using their nicknames, which are all new to us.
All I can remember is that one guy missed something like nine days with concussion protocol. Maybe Banks.

He does his thing and that's fine. I'll happily listen to any podcast about UMass basketball. I actually enjoyed the NCAA tournament expansion discussion. It's a welcome change from complaining about NIL and transfer portal BS. As far as his discussion about players, I think he's pretty careful about keeping it vague and managing individual expectations. What's he going to say, that Marcus Banks is going to give us 35 minutes a night, score 18 a game and make all-conference? Of course he's not going to give us that. He's still getting to know these guys, they're still getting to know each other, and he mentioned that he's going to be tinkering with lineups in the exhibition games.
