I stumbled across this, a ranking of all UMass recruits since 2000. I can't say I agree with some of the rankings, but all 5 in the class of 2016 plus Pip are in the top 15.

That's the most ignorant thing I've ever seen. (Not counting Trump.)

^ Those are the final rankings for each player before they actually went to college, only guys that committed to UMass out of high school, no transfers or JUCO guys are included. It's not a ranking of how good the players turned out to be. It also looks like it might only goes back to 2003.

I know you have been reading this board for a long time so you should probably rethink that statement! :D

So where is TV?

Edit: Or basically that whole class of 2008 minus Riley? That's a lot of beef to leave out.

^ Looks like it also omits guys who committed elsewhere first and/or some other guys for reasons I can't explain. Basically, the list is very flawed. A while back I think I manually took the list and added in any guys that were missing using their 247 rankings and also added in transfers w/ their HS rankings. It still showed a similar picture, Jarreau at the top and the rest of the 2016 class were all highly ranked, but nothing crazy like all 5 (6) in the top 15.

Then why is Jesse Morgan in the list?

Good point. I probably should explicitly exclude anything I might have said in the past. But seriously, the list includes transfers like Tiki Mayben and Brandon Thomas, but not Gary Forbes. Vinson Farrell and Sampson Carter were certainly ranked higher than Travon Wilcher coming out of high school. I don't have any data for that, but could there any doubt?

^ It's a very flawed list, but I suspected it would generate some discussion and right now I'm all in for BB talk and fading out on FB talk.

I guess I'm wrong, there's no rhyme nor reason to who's on the list and who isn't.
