For those in the NYC area...

Here's more info on the Maccabi vs. Knicks exhibition game:

Looks like I'll be leaving Homecoming pretty early Sunday morning to make it back to NYC in time.

Whoa, that Maccabi/Knicks game looks like it's carrying Knicks regular season prices. The nosebleeds are $36. I just looked at a pair of the $65s, and it was 300 level, but center court. That's not too bad.

Any Knicks season ticket holders in the house? I wonder if these tix would be included in a season ticket plan. Thinking if that's true, then maybe a bunch of 'em will end up on the re-sale market.

Mike,
I'm guessing part of the reason they are hosting Macabi in the first place is because those tickets can fetch the same value as regular season tickets might. The NY/NJ market is so strongly Jewish that the allure of Israel's elite club playing here carries far more weight for many fans that would, say, a pre-season contest with the Bucks. Macabi is a HUGE deal in Israel where many American Jews have visited and countless Israelis live in NYC, so it's a big pride thing for them I would imagine; sort of like when Mexico comes to the Meadowlands in soccer. I will hopefully be able to get to this contest.

So what you are saying is that the New York Knicks are trying to take advantage of Jewish and Israeli people? lol

Not sure that portion is going to the Real Garden. (Not Boston Garden)

By "real garden" are you referring to Gan Eden?

Maccabi Tel Aviv put up a video promoting their 2009-2010 season. About 3-4 Lasme highlights start at 1:04.

Anyone other than SamIam plan on attending Maccabi vs. Knicks?

For those of you who are interested, Stephane's picture is on the front page of NBA.com trying to block a shot in Maccabi's game against the Knicks.

It's not on the NBA homepage anymore, but is on the Knicks page:

Anyway, Stephane went for 5 points, 4 boards, a block, and change yesterday in 15+ minutes of PT.

Did anyone catch the weird headline about the game on ESPN's Bottom Line this morning? Paraphrasing: Maccabi coach gets ejected, refuses to leave the court, rabbi has to intervene. Here's a write-up from the Post.

Maccabi goes to LA tomorrow to face Marcus Camby and the Clippers.
