I noticed that as well when I saw that Carvel was shown as less than 50% win percentage.

I'm not surprised. Frank Martin asks us for three things, our time, our money, and our enthusiasm. We've brought all three for four years with disappointing results. It's time for him to show us something. Mike Leflar on the other hand has shown tangible progress and program building. I'm glad they're doing well in UMass Gives.

Like I've said, the only thing at this point keeping Bamford employed is his fundraising ability. If that is indeed drying up, and it seems like it might be, it could finally be the end for him.

Sorry my post was a bit misleading. I can’t find it anymore on the Umass gives site on my phone, but as of last night around 8pm or so when I took a screen shot, Women’s basketball was doing better than both Men’s Bb and football, but it hadn’t hit their goal in terms of number of donors. They had 56 out of 75. Not sure if they got more.

The sports that had exceeded their goals were Field Hockey (141 donors with 75 goal), Women’s Lacrosse (172 donors with a goal of 100), Men’s Ice Hockey (265/200), women’s soccer (128/100), women’s cross country/track and field (96/75) and women’s rowing (201/200).

Football and Men’s basketball were only ahead of cheerleading in terms of percentage of goal complete. I have that football was 48 out of 200 and men’s basketball was 23/100.

I have the direct links up on my phone still for Men’s ice hockey (finished $128,894 from 281 donors), men’s basketball (finished with $20,835 from 26 donors) and football (finished with $51,151 from 53 donors). The numbers for the other sports could have gone up as well and maybe some other sports got their goals that aren’t listed here. I don’t care enough to go searching for them as they aren’t on the main page anymore.

Very poor showing for MBB and Football. I don't recall last year being great either.

^Out of curiosity I went and checked and the 2025 UMass gives still has the table for all sports.

Only four sports last year made their goals: Women’s soccer (145/100), Men’s ice hockey (236/200), Men’s lacrosse (168/150) and Softball (76/75). Men’s basketball got 66/100 and football got 100/200. So both MBB and FB went in the wrong direction this year in terms of number of donor support. Hockey increased this year.

Thanks, I should have just looked it up. I didn't think the MBB and FB #s last year were great last year either, but what a dive. Major indictment on the top of the Department.

In terms of dollars give (not donors) Men's Hockey far and away the most $128,000 and Women's basketball 2nd at $68,000. Women's basketball may not have met their total donor goal, but clearly their gift per donor was high.

Soooo, I am guessing we don't have the 25 Million yet for the paint, banners, trees and bushes? Huh, weird?

I would have a lot more respect for this guy if he just levelled with us on the money. We all know it isn't there, and it does not look like it is coming either.

I know he cannot actually do that - either for PR reasons, or just higher-ups putting a muzzle on him... It is just tiring to get pissed on as fans and be told it is just raining.

stevemaz wrote: Mon Sep 22, 2025 5:01 am I believe by 2030ish we will be down to 80 or so P3s (B1G, SEC, and Big 12) and a few stragglers in the ACC and Pac12. Umass will be one of them in the ACC. Eventually it may be just two super conferences. Im not sure who blinks first between B1G and SEC, but my guess is the B1G goes to 24 schools (adding VA, NC, Cal, Stanford, Duke, and Ga Tech) using a 4 div pod system for non football sports. I can see SEC responding by going to 20 (Clemson, Fla St, Houston, and maybe Baylor or Va Tech). Big 12 does what it can to add. ACC will be BC, Pitt, Cuse, WF, Louisville, UConn, Umass, South Fla and even ND, who holds on to the Indy fb status.

Bamford needs to go.
JFC Maz, you gotta stop this delusional posting.

What does Umass bring to the table that keeps them in the group of 80? They had to beg to get back into an FBS conference which is already the worst one to add insult to injury. They have a pathetic football stadium which would become THE WORST in FBS-80 - it is probably bottom 10 right now if not the worst. UMass is historically cheap.... HISTORICALLY. And they do not have almost any support from the state. This smoke screen of spending all kinds of money is BS. Sure you are paying up a little for coaches, but the lipstick they applied to the building the last 8 years is starting to wear off and all they are doing is putting on a clean coating.

I have not even gotten to Bamford. He is the start of the problems here not the end.

HOW do you honestly believe they can survive that kind of purge?
He is the start of the problems here not the end. He makes $1,000,000 per year. Take out the Hockey Natty in 2021 and UMass could be a D2 or D3 program. We would certainly fit in the NEC.

I'll just put this out there with less than 4 months to go: IF WE LOSE TO STONEHILL.........the football "program" is to be shuttered. I know the MAC can not just get rid of us like the Big East did to Temple, but that would be BEYOND embarrassing. I mean Bamford GONE at game end; rest of season forfeited.

Bamford will not be fired.... He will pass blame on to Thorr somehow without actually blaming Thorr.
