^ …and both have beaten UMass this season. I read that Michigan State will be the fourth team.
Will UMass play at 2 or 5….do any of you know?
is session 1 for both semi final games?
Yes.
I bought behind one of the goals right after DU won. Just get a ticket. Usually there’s plenty of empty seats as the fans from the late game may be at pregame parties hosted by their schools and you can sit in other seats if you prefer. Here’s hoping there’s a lot of UMass fans there.

BU got a bit hosed, playing in Sioux Falls. Denver fans already crying about playing on our home turf. Oh well. Let's go!
Nothing else the committee could do for BU. Weren’t gonna ship the number 1 seed BC out west. BU can’t play UMass in the first round as they’re both hockey East, and UMass is the host at Springfield so UMass needs to play there. Was between Sioux Falls and Maryland Heights, and the Maryland Heights rink fits like 2,500 so if a BU fan wants to get on a plane and have a chance to see the game, they’re better off going to Sioux Falls and having a chance at getting a ticket. Committee did the best it could by BU with the rules as they are now. There’s nothing stopping BU from putting in future bids to avoid this from happening in the future. I don’t recall them hosting in recent memory. There’s a financial risk to being a host, but there’s so many schools in the northeast anyway that odds are good you’ll get 2-3 close in your regional even if you don’t make it and therefore it should do ok. Case in point- I think Brown is the host in Providence this season, and they’ve gotta be please with BC and Q-PAC there even though they didn’t make it.
DU was sort of forced into Springfield as well. They couldn’t play WMU since they’re both NCHC, and BC and BU can’t play UMass since they’re all Hockey East. Unless the committee really wanted to screw BC or BU and make them play WMU instead of a lower ranked autobid and give RIT or Michigan Tech to DU, there was no other way to do it. These pairings for the 1-seeds also protect bracket integrity for these games at least (1 BC vs 16 Tech, 2 BU vs 15 RIT, 3 DU vs 14 UMass and 4 Michigan State vs 13 Western Michigan). I don’t know what else the committee could have reasonably done in these cases.

That all makes sense. I actually stayed 2 nights in Sioux Falls last summer. Nice little small city if any BU fans take the trip.

The game sold out last night. I tried to get tickets at the box office this morning but no luck. It's on ESPNU so that may be the best bet.

According to the website, there are about 120 seats left for UMass' game. They're in sections U3-U5, the NE corner. They're relatively high up:

I also just got an email from UMass with tickets still available. They appear to be in the corner behind one goal (not the one I bought a ticket behind but oh well).

Did you all notice that UMass got NO respect on the selection show? No shots of the team waiting for results. One of the announcers said a committee instead of a computer wouldn't have put UMass in. No talk about the team or players. Let's make them sit up and take notice! GO UMASS!
