From what I here at UConn (I work there but commute back to Amherst for Basketball games), Doug had numerous chances here before getting the boot.

This kid needs to go play for a CC and get his life together.

Correia, Gibbs, Gurley, and Harris are all capable of playing the point. Wiggins blew his chance.

IS that really his response? Wow......they can't kick this kid out fast enough for me. He needs some guidance.....he is totally clueless.

When I was at UMass, I may not have stumbled into, or whatever the hell he's alleged to have done, the wrong apartment, but I was certainly drunk enough to have done so, from time to time .

No conviction yet and he's still young. Hopefully, he comes around and realizes what's at stake in terms of his future.

He has work to do to get himself back onto the right path.

UMass should help him, if that's possible.

If he gets the boot now, nobdy wins.

I don't have enough facts about the arrest. But that Facebook thing just shows an attitude that I'm not comfortable with. Kids who "get it" and are interested in being a part of something can make mistakes like smoking a joint or getting boldly trashed occasionally. Stephane Lasme was arrested for a "violent crime" as I recall. But it wasn't indicative of his overall attitude.

The Facebook thing clearly shows that he is not one of those kids, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the arrest. Let him stay to finish the year academically if he wants, but he needs to be off the hoop team permanently. He obviously just doesn't get it.

sounds like Doug has some serious problems and needs help. He feels like no one is there to support him.

Are you serious? I'm not a Facebook person....is all this shit really on there for anyone to see?

Yep. Well, for anyone in the UMass network.

This is true, and I did the same, but I was not a scholarship athlete in the midst of legal troubles. This is him blatantly not thinking.

Is there any chance he didn't put that on there? If not, why should it be excluded from opinion? It's a great look into where his head is......completely up his ass. The fact that it's a social networking site is irrelevant.
