The mecca of NJ newspapers. DrG, where abouts in NJ, ever heard of The Record or The Observer?DrG wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 1:08 pmMike, as a native New Jerseyan, I was saddened by the news that the once-great Newark Star-Ledger is dropping its print edition and going on-line only. That's just the way it is in the newspaper business now, large and small.MikeUMA wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2025 11:23 am OK so I'm sad. I looked for a local preview article for tonight's game. Nothing from the Gazette, nothing from the Collegian.
The Collegian is trying. They usually offer a couple of things after each game, especially home. Just a little bummed that they didn't produce something for arguably our biggest home game of the season.
The Gazette, I'm getting increasingly worried about. Their remaining reporters are stretched too thin, they seem to be pivoting what's left to high school coverage first, they're starting to restrict their UMass sports articles online, etc. Gone are the days where Matt Vautour would churn out content pre and post game.
Could go on about the demise of local media, but it's certainly ground that's been covered.I guess we'll have to start winning more to get even local coverage.

Odds seem to be setting in at UM +1 or +1½

Nice job battling back after a rough start. Nobody in foul trouble and getting pretty good play from most everyone. Diggins forcing it a bit. Muhammed on the floor helps. Swope scares me.

Nice effort. Rivera struggles making lay ups. He can rebound though.

HUGE rebound by Rivera only to then take it down the court with an absolutely horrible, horrible shot, followed by another by Curry. We play hard, but DUMB.

Rivera with another absolutely idiotic play, but, hey, 14/14.

This loss is all on Curry. F’ing pathetic.

This team makes me want to scream. Some of the worst execution and decision making.

Worst loss I can remember. Absolute fucking choke job. Complete, complete collapse. Shitty clock management, DUMB fucking plays and use of timeouts. Frank froze and this team is dumb. That SUCKED.
