No kidding! I believe there's over 40 bowl games now. Hopefully we can crack the top 80 at some point

There is not a lot of difference between the number of bowls to the number of basketball 68 NCAA and 32 NIT slots. The big difference is DIV 1 is divided into subclasses, where basketball is not. Remember FCS has their play offs and basketball has really minor ones as CBI or CIT.Quann wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:52 pm No kidding! I believe there's over 40 bowl games now. We can agree to disagree. FCS is still DIV 1.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 3:16 pmSteve81 wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 2:49 pmThere is not a lot of difference between the number of bowls to the number of basketball 68 NCAA and 32 NIT slots. LOL there's a MASSIVE difference between the bowl system and the basketball tournament system. There's also about 350+ D1 schools in basketball.. it's far from everyone gets a trophy mentality. Come on Steve, you don't need to try to pull this crap anymore, you got what you wanted with the MAC move.
I still don’t understand what you are agreeing to disagree about?Steve81 wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 3:40 pmWe can agree to disagree. FCS is still DIV 1.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 3:16 pmSteve81 wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 2:49 pm

Football Division 1 with 365 members and 31 conferences. (FBS with 138 schools, 10 conferences, and 2 independents.)
The FBS numbers are very similar to the Power conferences and high mid majors Big East, A10, MVC and WCC.
We agree to disagree. While FBS in football is similar as basketball mid majors with the power conferences, it is different. The other 200 basketball conference champions can dance and FCS Div 1 are different as those do not compete for Bowls or the CFP.Quann wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2024 9:21 am Steve81, you are a strange dude. You getting offended by me saying hopefully we can crack the top 80 in FBS is bizarre. Then bringing in FCS is even more bizarre. FCS teams don’t go to bowl games, so what is their relevance in your rant about basketball and football postseasons? Please stop your scolding in my private messages, you are such a big baby. I’m one of the biggest supporters of FBS football on this board and have been since we made the move. I’m always going after the posters that shit on the upgrade. So please spare your whining for the people that hate FBS football, it ain’t me bud. I’ll say it again, let’s CRACK THE TOP 80 AND GO BOWLING. Fans like Steve81 sure don’t help the cause with how they act on here.

You scolded me dude. We haven’t been close to going to a bowl, that’s just the reality. I’m of fan of football and basketball equally (like majority on here) not sure why you have this idea in your head that there should be different factions for both sports. It’s weird.Steve81 wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2024 10:10 amWe agree to disagree. While FBS in football is similar as basketball mid majors with the power conferences, it is different. Quann did not scold you. My message was that I do not like you making fun of UMass Football for not being in the top 80. Myself not liking the haha not making the top 80 and bowl game attitude and putting UMass down. Would be as offensive as me going on to the basketball forum and posting that last 3 home game attendance.
Since you inaccurately interpreted my message will post it.

Your right, did scold you. It's not wrong you post how you consider bowls or me posting how I feel about the 'haha' emoji or posts and my perspective. Do like basketball and on the Massachusetts Collective pay wall. It's not exactly equal with me, but do give to the general athlete fund as well.Quann wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2024 10:22 am

Honestly it's been a really great bowl performance for the MAC so far. The wins have come against an ACC program (Pitt), the CUSA champs (Jacksonville State), and one of the MWC programs headed for the new PAC (Fresno). The sole loss was 6-6 Western Michigan against a middle of the road sunbelt team.Camby4Life wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 6:53 pm Anyone do a wellness check on Steve81? These Maction bowl games are the greatest. Toledo just won in 6ot and the Mac is now 3-1 with another game tonight. Can’t wait for Umass to be playing in one of these.
