There are close to 300 players in the A-10...you finish in the top 7-8%...that's pretty damn good!
Lack of other scoring options on the team plays a big part in that.

Gazette article on Carl Pierre as he enters his senior season: https://www.gazettenet.com/UMass-senior ... n-37304078

Absolutely one of my favorite UMass players ever. Stats be damned, he brings what I want from my student athletes. He works hard on and off the court and is a great rep for the University. He's going to be successful with whatever he chooses to do after UMass and I hope we get more like him. As I mentioned in another thread, it will be a damn shame if he doesn't get a proper senior day sendoff.

Doesn't he get another year at UMass? If so, could be all time leading scorer.

^ Will there be asterisks for records given that many players will have played 5 seasons?

On the flip side Julius amassed his numbers in 2 varsity seasons without being able to dunk and with no 3-point shot available.

He's down the charts on cumulative records, but his averages will never be passed.

Carl just passed Derek Kellogg in total minutes played. Not earth shattering, I know, but interesting none the less.

Carl passed John Murphy and Carmelo Travieso on the points scored list for 29th place. Next up, Jim Town and Anthony Anderson.

I remember standing next to Jim Town at the Civic Center in Spfld after a game, feeling like a grade school kid; He was a big dude! If I remember correctly, he was among Denver's final preseason cuts.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Remember when CP sucked and he was going to be the first or second guy off the bench this year?

Needed to find time for JG, before he was a lottery pick, if memory serves me....

He went through a tough stretch yesterday. Shooters are going to shoot, but sometimes a coach needs to reign that in. Hope to see the ball drop through the net on Wednesday.

If by stretch you mean 35 out of the 36 mins he played.. But honestly that's not on him.. can't fault the effort. You can fault the coach for playing the cold hand over the hot hand.

I was attempting to be diplomatic about it...
