Yeah, wasn't too happy when I heard that.
I'm almost being swayed to have to give Fiore the benefit of the doubt that he's innocent.
Ha, no you're not

.
Right now with these candidates, it's Greene's job to lose. Fiore...I'm sorry, there really is way too much smoke there, I would not be comfortable with him as AD.

Agree. Greene is my pick out of this group.

I like him the best as well (from the little I know), but "Greene's job to lose" is stretching it I think. You can probably make a decent case for at least one or two of the others, and we don't know how the committee will view them after the interviews.

True, but you have one candidate with red flags, one with potential red flags, and one who's an AD at a school with no football.
Perhaps "job to lose" is strong but I feel that way. Describing him as the "front-runner" might be a little more appropriate? Though that too is a matter of opinion...

I don't follow sites like it...
First saw it yesterday, googled for AD search...

The VCU AD is the only candidate with hockey in his background and Fiore is the only other one who was an actual AD. I don't know how everyone else feels but our track record with hiring Assistants to run the show is not exactly stellar.
Ian McCaw had no FBS experience but he seems to have done a great job at Baylor. Just saying.
That being said if we were to choose one of the other candidates I would take Green's resume over Bamford. I saw a Twitter exchange between Bamford and an ESPN exec that makes Bamford seem to be a punk and in my opinion, stupid for engaging ESPN over Twitter ala Keith Oberman.

^^^ Valid points there ... if Fiore gets hired, it has the potential to erase all the good will that came with Derrick Gordon's coming out. And would anyone be surprised if DG transfers if Fiore gets hired?

The UMass lawyers are currently doing their due diligence. I think we'll have an announcement this week.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

For whatever it's worth I just had a source tell me they spoke to a former female employee under Fiore at SB and they said that the allegations against him were trumped up. Apparently the situation was different than what was reported.

Certainly something happened there that caused him to be out of the job. He may be a qualified guy, but I don't think this athletic program needs to hire a guy like this given its current state. Let's hire Greene or the guy from VCU and move on.
