I was excited going into this season knowing that we would have Chris Lowe for another year with Ricky Harris as a Junior. Getting Gibbs made me even more excited about our next few seasons. With Gurley in the mix we should have the best guards in the A10 for the next 3-4 years. Adding Doug Wiggins, an apparent upgrade to Gibbs at the point, makes me giddy with excitement for the next few years of UMass basketball. What good big man would not want to play with guards like that for the next few years? I'd like to think UMass is becoming very attractive for some really good players.

Good article, thanks. Seems like the young man has learned from his experience. Although the headline made me a little nevous.

That was a nice article. So far so good...it seems like Wiggins is handling his situation with maturity and class.
Also, the article confirms what some were wondering about:
"Wiggins is close friends with UMass incoming freshman David Gibbs, who is from East Hartford and attended the Master's School in Simsbury."

Why would he need a certian grade to be able to transfer. does that mean he will not be accepted to UMass or not be eligible?

Wiggins' academics are very shaky at best.

Wiggins is playing the Greater Hartford Pro-Am league this summer and lit it up this past Saturday (29 points).

No idea on the level of play...but the rosters look pretty competitive:

Me thinks Mr. Wiggins could have a real impact here....
