CJ Kelly had a nice game as UCF beat SMU - 36 minutes, 21 pts on 6-11 shooting (including 3-3 downtown and 6-6 FTs), 2 rebs, 3 assts, and 2 steals.

^CJ Kelly leads all scorers as UCF beats Florida to advance in the NIT. Thought he was very hit or miss during his time at UMass - looks like Dawkins has him doing all the right thing to advance his game and use his shooting as a strength.

Mitchell hasn't really improved at all in 4 years. Can't believe some folks thought he was an NBA draft pick

Definitely a guy who would've been better off staying at UMass. If you're the go-to guy, it's probably not a good idea to transfer.

I’m counting three former UMass players in the tournament:

Tre Mitchell-knocked out 1st round
Ronnie DeGray snd Sean East II-Missouri leading late in the 2nd half.

Am I missing anyone?

Still bummed Tre left like he did. He could have been an all time great here.

You are correct. And CJ Kelly is playing in the NIT.

He must be injured. I haven't seen him in the box scores lately.

Can’t forget our ‘former coach’ Pat Kelsey…tied with SDSU with 2:37 to go.

We should have hired Micah Shrewsberry back in 2017. I was screaming for it. He wanted to come here. Nope, Bumfield hired McCall. Guy can coach and has his team dancing.

I'm guessing that Mitchell never envisioned a scenario when he left Woodstock Academy in 2019 that four years later he would have played for three different college teams and only made one appearance in post season play. He was so dominate at UMass, what could have been. I'm sure Tony B also never imagined this scenario either.

But he still has his covid year of eligibility if he chooses to use it so he may not be done yet with his college career.
