have you looked at the schedule? 5 macs and wagner.. i think with a few play makers on offense we can compete with even the top tier in the MAC
we play to win and those should be 6 winnable games with two years under the DB regime.
Yes I have looked at the schedule.... A tuna can beating up on other tuna cans.... Umass could win 100 in a row against that line up and they would barely get into the top 50 never mind top 25.
I am all for a schedule that can pile up wins, but if you think that kind of a schedule is going to give them any street-cred you are insane.

Remember when a major talking point for the program upgrade was that people would be rushing to fill McGuirk if we were just playing higher caliber teams and not ones like Eastern Michigan and Wagner? Maybe our traditional rivals Missouri will pack them in or maybe Tiger fans travel well.

^ And probably (rather than maybe) Missou will cancel. Here's two of the many twitter posts in recent weeks:
"A good question I would be asking more for Ryan Bamford is if Missouri has actually approached him about getting out of the road contest in Amherst in 2024. It's UMass' only P5 team at home on a future schedule, & Missouri is already exploring ways to prevent that road trip."
"Nothing super insightful, but there’s some away non-conference games scheduled by a previous administration against non-power 5 schools that they don’t really want to play. There’s an away game set for UMass in 2024 that I suspect won’t get played as currently scheduled."
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Word on the street is that Missouri has not (yet) approached UMass about changing or cancelling that game. Doesn't mean it won't happen (and I am of the belief that it is likely they will), but it hasn't been discussed yet.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

If the record is 6-0 they will be in AP top 25 or worst case just out of it as James Madison and Coastal Carolina are at the present moment.

if they cancel and the game is replaced by a weaker opponent the record will move to 7-0 and then 8-0 the following week vs UConn. Hmmm? 8-0 team heading into Miss State.

Let’s start winning some games over the next couple years. There are going to be some new conference opportunities opening up with all of the shuffling that will be happening over the next couple seasons. I’m optimistic.

My prediction is that we don't lose next week. I'm looking forward to all the excitement.

The team has 400+ yards passing TOTAL through 7 games, and haven't had a single guy get over 100 in a game. That's so embarrassing.

For as bad as the defense was last year, and it was historically bad, the offense this year is actually worse. Yesterday, 8 of 11 drives were 5 plays or less. Outside of the covid year, it’s the lowest yards per play in fbs since 2014.
In a way, im a little shocked Casula is even still on the staff. Even with significant improvement they’re still going to be real bad. It just needs a complete change in philosophy at this point.
Meanwhile, you have an SEC team that is calling for their OCs head after putting up 49 points. I’d agree it was pretty weird to pass 3 straight times though

Watched Brown's post game interview and something he said really caught my attention. He spoke on how he uses different players for their strengths during the game when sending in his substitution packages. As the season has gone on I have seen how teams are using this against UMass by going up-tempo and catching UMass without the right players or in position. Also, they are running when UMass has their pass package in or passing when the run package is in, causing big gains.
This was one of the negatives used against Brown's defense at Michigan before he was fired. He would have his blitz package in and teams would just run it down his throat or hit a long pass because of man coverage.
Last week's defense against Liberty doesn't seem so good after they barely beat 2 - 4 FCS Garner Webb 21 - 20 at home yesterday.

Buffalo attendance 13,378. Just wait until we are winning games.

At least two (2) of yesterday’s receptions were if the “circus” variety, which very easily could have been incompletions at best and interceptions at worst.
