From what I heard it sounds like Coach has found a great complement to Tre in the front court

I suspect we will see what made Matt Mcall a good coach in the years to come ....

I like Hima, but we don't have room for him. Maybe he preps at Woodstock for a year. That would be excellent timing. I'd prefer that to seeing him end up at URI (who probably doesn't need him now with the incoming transfers they have) or Duquesne.

Mounir Hima (@HimaMounir) who is currently a senior, has told me that UMass, Rhode Island, Duquesne, Iona, and St. Peters are high on his list. Texas A&M offered him a visit but got cancelled amid the coronavirus. He will be committing in a month or so. He is an athletic center.

^ Pitino has to pull a con job on one of these kids sometime soon. Probably telling them they play their home games at MSG!

Doubt it. I'm sure him saying "I'm Rick Pitino and I've won 2 National Championships and been to the Final Four 7 times with 3 teams." is more than enough to get him in the conversations.

So we're still after Hima? That would mean someone else would have to transfer.

This week's episode of "Freshman Film Room" on Ronnie DeGray. Touri will be missed.

Love his analyses. Not too many sportswriters describe a player as languid. Seems to be DeGray's only weakness - his occasional languidity.
Ronnie is a great pick up for MM.

I think Amin is a very good writer, I like him -- not as much as some folks do, especially on the long form stuff -- these though I think are outstanding. The intros sound like an NPR podcast about an unsolved murder (or solved murder with some controversy), but they are really well done and I think it's stuff like that journalists just getting out of school are going to need to do.

I also listened to the 3 Bid League podcast with Jay Burnham. For folks that are supposed to be A-10 "experts", the host didn't seem particularly experty to me. He gushed about TJ Weeks -- which is fine as TJ is obviously a really good player -- but he talked about how he is such a good shooter that can swing between the 3 and the 4 and is really athletic. Good shooter hell yes! Plays the 3 and 4? Hmmm... Really athletic? Hmmm... I think I could tell that Burnham was a bit confused when he mentioned the playing the 3 or 4.

Also I see that Niles has joined the artist formerly know as MartyPeretz in the world of podcasting about UMass hoops. I would pay good money to watch a video of Joleon or Eldonabe listening to Niles' podcast. Ok, I wouldn't pay anything, but I would like to watch that.

Here's the 3 Bid League Podcast. Draw your own conclusions as to how good it is.

Here's Marty - I don't have the attention span for most of them, but I did enjoy the recent one with Marty Dobrow:

I believe he has me on “mute.” But as he launches his Podcast career, let’s all remember what a sharp and disciplined thinker the dude is. You can take to the bank anything he might say!

I still get notifications when you quote me. Using "mighty" in Bradley Braves wasn't memorable to me, forgetting my use of it several hours later probably isn't a great indicator of the level of how sharp or disciplined of a thinker I am.

I'm not sure why I continue to be a subject of fascination/discussion for you. No need to answer that here though, I don't actually want to know, unless I should be worried about what you might do in the future.

Here are links to the two podcasts I've done, for anyone interested. I won't be making a career change, the sound quality isn't great, I did both in one take without editing, and I don't have any experience/practice doing this sort of thing... so to say these were amateur efforts is an understatement.
