I talked to a friend of mine who lives in Amherst now and he said it was the best sport luncheon he ever went to.A lot of positive stuff for football. He was amazed that Thor came up to him and remembers him by name.
I was also at luncheon and Thorr came up to me too & mentioned me by name. He had also came up to me at the last basketball game and asked how I had been.
As far as his luncheon talk goes he was certainly “fired up” to be back at Umass and excited to build up the football program.

That guy was a 4-year OC at an FBS program fairly recently? Could have fooled me.
Also, I am watching the Snoop Dog Bowl, featuring Miami-OH - it should be The Power and Class of New England playing Snoop tracks during this halftime show, not stupid Miami-OH! Yet ANOTHER way that Bamford deprives the fans and the students.

He has been demoted and was most recently an analyst brought in as an interim OC. Bounces everywhere and his offenses never ranked above 115 recently.

Would pursuing Bill Durkin be a good option for UMass as OL coach? He seems to have had a solid career at the Mid Major level.

Did anyone go to the Sports Luncheon today to hear Ryan and Thorr? I couldn't make it and I would imagine the entire program about FB other than the 2 athletes of the week, DHS and Marcus. What a show those 2 put on in the ACC games!
He also talked about scheduling. There are some changes to the 2026 schedule. That was sort of "inside information," so I don't feel it's right to put that in print just now, but I think people will be basically pleased. An announcement should be made soon on the OOC schedule when it is finalized. The larger philosophy is that we will be playing only one P4 team per season, and they are taking steps to make that happen. Ryan is finishing up this year's schedule, and then scheduling will pass to Thorr.
RR, was this the game that was announced at the luncheon?
Did they mention this as a 13th game or replacement of another game on the schedule?

Yes, it was. The issue of the 13th game is still up in the air. I think they are trying to push the Hawaii game out into the future, so the team has a bye during the season. That appears to be as yet unsettled but I'm guessing we'll get an announcement on that soon.
