Maybe the football program needs more $$$$.
I’d settle for a better defensive line and better defensive backs…..

Let's see: I started this thread and said this was a "get right game"......I remember last year after jacob lurie blew a 40 yarder so we could only lose it later to Liberty I said "drop football; restart in a few years" clean slate. the thing that gets me is that we are spending increasingly bigger money only to keep losing. Coach Joe makes 1.4M thats 7 times what Molnar was making. I have to vent. I was playing cards in a home game and the guy next to me also went to UMass. I was watching on my phone and we couldnt believe what was going on.
I have to vent. Statistically what we are "witnessing" really can't occur. In gambling, you win a certain percentage of the time: I don't care if its poker, blackjack, craps, etc. You have the best hand and it holds up or you get lucky and you're chasing outs and you hit your combo draw. The winning poker players sit and wait for their hand and statistically they have the best of it. In blackjack, the deck swings your way and you count cards and you win.
UMass football 15 years ago on the cover of the Boston Herald said "Movin' on up"............
ARE TOTALLY FUCKED. We're in the MAC full time. That's it. The A-10 had to be left behind. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE WE ALWAYS LOSE ON LAST SECOND FIELD GOALS.

Bryant has been playing football for 26 years. They were fucking DIVISION TWO 26 years ago. This UMass "program" honest to God would lose to a good high school team you see on ESPN in August from down South. We have beaten the likes of Georgia Southern App State James Madison when we both 1AA. Now we can't even beat a former D 2 team from Rhode Island. I'm sorry guys. I'm not #DumbUserName who makes sarcastic comments after every loss. I care; like you I went to UMass. I guess the only saving grace for me is my son is applying to college now and he's applying to Clemson, Penn State, U Miami, Georgia, etc. I will live vicariously through him and go to the games in those mega stadiums that hold 80,000 plus.
I just don't get it. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE THIS BAD FOR THIS LONG AND SPEND THE KIND OF MONEY WE DO?

I think I read that UMass suffered 10 tackles for losses.

I’m kind of missing Don Brown and Casula calling plays. Who knew last season would be better than this dumpster fire. What a mess.

UMass football and basketball are both JOKES! And what is the one common denominator…a WAY OVER COMPENSATED, AND USELESS AD!

I believe that’s Eastern Michigan, which just lost to LIU. Unfortunately, we don’t play them this season.

Bryant essentially threw the ball up and hoped for pass interference calls or catches.
Somehow it worked

It did work.there was also a key first down QB run by Bryant where they weren't sure he reached the first down marker. Review said he did make it. Looked a bit short to me. Don't they pull out the chains and measure?

What type of organization raises prices as UMass has for parking, tickets, and other costs for attending while their product (football) is the worst in the United States? I'm an alum and my wife, kids and other family members are alums. I am also a recent retiree after working for decades at UMass. I'm a long time season ticket holder in football and basketball and love everything UMass. Howevert I find it beyond belief that UMass keeps raising the cost of attendance while the parking lots and seats are empty! They could give tickets away right now and still not fill the stadium! With the great Isenberg School of Management on campus, marketing has to change to increase attendance. Prices should come down and not continue to rise. The product on the field doesn't warrant it! Wake up!

If this POS AD is still employed when I wake up tomorrow morning, then the administration is not serious about football.
He’s clearly not a very good defensive back.
No, but he is the guy who has made every major decision at UMass for the bell weather sport in today’s college athletics landscape for the last ten years. Your right though let’s blame the defensive backs.

I would like to take at least one positive out of the game.. at least our coach finally got his head out of his ass and stopped taking fair catches on kickoffs. That said, he stuck it back in running the ball 3rd in 7 on our last drive. Play to win..had to pass on that play.. who cares about saving 17 seconds when your defense blows.

I’m getting sick of the pressers where coach just quotes stats. He comes as a guy trying to be smarter than everyone and plays everything based on analytics and not feel or situations. Kind of like the anti Whipple, who believed every offensive play he called could be a TD no matter where they were on the field.
