I've seen about 4 different interviews/press conferences with him the last couple weeks....have to say I didn't like his attitude. He has a real arrogance about him that really makes him hard to like......great talent....maybe he'll grow up a little.

I wonder how much of that is related to his ability to excel on a team that won a NC? Sometimes I think we, as fans, go a long way in creating these pretty unappealing personalities. These are pretty young guys and they're getting pretty heady adulation.

Noah didn't immediately sprint to the scorers table after the game. First for awhile he was celebrating with his teammates, coaches, managers with hugs etc on the court. Then he went off to try and find his Dad. Finding that it was too crowded to get to him he jumped on the table and shared his joy with the Florida fans. The pulling of the jersey to show his school's name is a standard thing nowadays and again shows that is is about the team/school.
Cut the kid some slack. If I had just won a National Championship with my friends I would be pretty excited and probably act crazy too.

Noah being a rich, successfull kid may very well be arrogant I don't know. Maybe him being part French adds that preception. But picking on his celebration actions seems like a bit of a reach to me. If you ever won any kind championship you remember the feeling of unbridled joy you just want to share with anyone. He just won a National Championship he should be allowed to express and share his feelings.

I noticed this during the game. I think it was an out of bounds play where he was going to the baseline to inbound the ball, and as he was approaching the Bruin cheerleaders he mouthed some kisses to them. But the way he did it looked a little sketchy. It made him look like a bit of a weasel.

That said, the kid was playing off his ass and I guess I can understand how his confidence got the best of him.

I think the Camby comparison is a good one, but Noah rose to this level much faster than Camby did. Marcus established himself right away. I hadn't heard of Noah until 3 weeks ago, now the whole world knows him. Whether he'll be able to maintain any part of this wave remains to be seen. But he's got game.

My brother has season tix to florida and Ive seen him a few times live He can rebound, play great D, and is a really great passer for his size. He's probably a better passer that Marcus is right now. On the other hand his offensive moves are weak. He really doesnt have any. When he tries to back his man down he usually gets stuck and has to pass it away. I couldnt see him pulling of a smooth turnaround a la Marcus against Ketucky his junior year. I loved that shot, where after he hit it had that look like "give me the ball, im taking over", which he did.

You are absolutely right....he is young and deserves the benefit of the doubt. As someone who was not exceptionally talented and revered at a young age, I can only imagine what my ego would have been like. I just think he has some growing up to do, like most kids his age. I didn't see the end of the last game or what he did immediately after - my opinion is based on other interviews earlier in the tournament, and I really didn't like what I saw....

I think any of us would be a little tired of having to deal with every Tom, Dick, and Harry sticking a microphone in your face asking you to opine on everything from your bathroom habits to your favorite pre-game meal.

Cut these kids a break, they're in college.
Word to your motha!

Wojciechowski's reason number 8 for UCLA's loss:

8. UCLA Cheerleaders and Dance Team
Memo to all of those waving pompoms: Never, ever taunt Noah during inbound plays.

"They were just talking crazy to me, like, 'You're so ugly,' " Noah said. "I mean, it hurts when you have so many beautiful girls out there just telling you how ugly you are and stuff."

Noah blew a kiss to them. Then he blew away the Bruins.

Article on Noah in the NY Times - provides a *bit* more information on which to evaluate (or formulate) your opinions of him.

Anyone remember that Noah was a recruiting target of ours a few years back?

Speaking of a Camby/Noah comparison:
Noah’s six blocked shots matched an individual Final Four record set by Danny Manning of Kansas in 1988 and equaled by Marcus Camby of UMass in 1996.
