We got no business playing this team. Could we not get a game with Rhode Island , BU, Maine, Sienna or Albany.
This game is an embarrassment.
You would need to practice normally during Finals to play Siena…..the one near Berkshire County…and any other D1…..wouldn’t need the same level of practice to play UMB…..plus they pay a guaranteed game to a state school.
Would have needed to schedule it differently but had a week in between the FSU game and the Kent St. game to schedule that final non-conference game.
I'm sure UMB got a decent guarantee paid for by the season ticket holders who had to work and got cheated out of going to the game, but don't understand why it's this athletic department's responsibility to prop up the other UMass campuses.
Give WBB more money.

Give me one good reason why this game was played. I was forced to buy into this game as a STH. 400 something attendees. I did not attend. What a pathetic joke and embarassment for the program.

Ass whooping: check
Bench players got some experience: check
Nobody appeared to get injured: check
I've made my opinion on this game and the scheduling choice very clear. I'm going to enjoy a heaping helping of Christmas and then it's on to Eastern Michigan.

Four other MAC teams are playing D3 teams this afternoon.this was a good practice game and gave a lot of time to the bench.

I was there and learned almost nothing from this game. I won't comment on the starters or Parker because we know what they are. I also will leave out Clerc and Luka because they had nobody who could match up with their size. What I'll do is a stock up and stock down on the 4 other guys who played (not including Rollie). Osman must be red-shirting as he did not play and he looks healthy.
Wimbley - stock down first half, but better in the second half. He still makes too many mental errors and careless passes for a high-level recruit.
Brown - A big stock down. He had a terrible game.
Placide - Stock up. If he stays healthy, he will help us with the guard rotation. Shot looks smooth and he looks like he belongs.
Outlaw - I give him a stock up, even though he was taller than any UMB guys. He has good hops and good hands. I'd like to see him against DI guys.
If anyone else was there I'd like to hear what you thought.

I been saying for a bit now that Placide deserves more PT, he is a real offensive threat unlike some players on our team.

^ Hasn't Placide been on the injured list?
I watched a fair amount. It was good to see Outlaw and Placide get some run and do something positive.
As to why the game, I suggest that Mr. Meehan might have thought it was a peachy idea.
When was the last time a UMass hoops team used thirteen guys in the first half? Probably never.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Somewhat concerning that Banks was again unable to get virtually any open 3 point looks, even against a D3 opponent. They need to figure out a way for him to get some open shots because, as we saw on Saturday, Bettiol and DHS can't score enough to beat good D1 teams.

Agree. The schemes can only do so much. He needs to move a lot more on offense. The set plays out of bounds with double or elevator screens have popped him open. He has trouble losing his defender. It isn’t the motion offense. He needs to be faster. He doesn’t move a lot when the ball goes inside allowing his defender to be too close.

A game to satisfy the politicos. Meehan is an ASS. Next year, UM-Dartmouth?
Only good news - the benchers played a lot. That's it.
The tiny audience 2000 or so, REALLY? Numbers only Trump rally counters could love.

^ There could not have been more than 500 people there. I have no idea where they came up with 2,000. On the flip side, they announced 3,100 for the Kent State game and I thought it was closer to 4,000.
