Looks like we have a couple of players that can shoot 3's.

Bettiol with a near triple-double… when you include turnovers.

I do like how Bettiol comes back and makes positive plays after turnovers and mistakes. That's a rare quality to leave the past in the past, but yeah, he's gotta clean things up a bit.

Good to see a W after having what I consider subpar games from Jayden, DHS, and Banks. They've got much better games in them, no doubt. I am a tad worried about DHS though.

I also love seeing production from Clerc, Luka, Wimbley, and Carbuccia. Was very pleased with the bench.

Glad that Parker's fabulous first half wasn't wasted today! Hopefully, we'll see a Parker/Banks explosion a few times in the Virgin Islands.

No idea why in a game that got tight down the stretch Frank had Parker on the bench for the final 6 plus minute bites of the game. Best FT shooter on the bench :?:

I didn’t watch the game but reading all the complaints on here you would’ve thought we lost the game! Really is a miserable place around here lately. A win is a win early in the season, especially against a familiar regional foe. Don’t let football drag everyone down.

My wife and I had to leave at halftime. We were so dominant in the first half but I see that they out scored us by a lot in the second half. What the hell happened?? Did they make adjustments that we had difficulty countering or did we just play like crap?

Always good to learn from a win, but if you were at the game you would probably feel the same way. The first half was an offensive clinic. I don't think the D was great, but we had them off their game and they allowed a lot of open shots for us.

They came out much more aggressive in the 2nd half and we got tentative and careless. Also, our shots stopped falling for a while. It's a game we should have won by 20 and they cut it to 5 with under a minute to go. If the game went 2 minutes longer we might have lost.

Some good points:
We have multiple guys who can hit 3's so if 1 guy is off, others can pick up the slack.
I thought this was Wimbley's best game so far. He had 6 points, 4 boards and his D looked pretty good to my untrained eye.
We got 14 points from our back-up centers, although we did play 2 bigs for stretches.

The bad:
We were 12/25 from the line. That's giving away 5 or 6 points even on an average shooting day.
We have no rim protection. CCSU has not shot the ball well from the outside all year and we let them drive to the basket over and over, especially in the second half. That's what go them to the line 31 times. I'm not an expert, but it looked like we were very slow on rotations.
Bad turnovers, same as in every game this year. Frank calls them "pick-6's".

But it's a win and hopefully, the mistakes can be coached up.

I think Frank is still trying to see what combinations he can use out there. First half seemed like the substitutions were less, and that starting group looked pretty good. 2nd half we didn't look as aggressive and had a few sloppy turnovers, but when they needed a bucket, they got it. Bettiol is very active on the boards & around the hoop, his effort is generally always high. He had a lot of rebounds today. CCSU got a little more physical in the 2nd half and climbed back in it, but I never felt like we were gonna lose it. Good to get the W

Brown got no time today, wonder why he's not in the rotation

I was a little concerned about the score and hope you are right Floyd, regarding experimenting with different line ups. Liked the win as well
Be proud of the present and look to the future.
