When's the last time we beat a #1 team? We've had to have done it before right? I assume when BU or BC was #1

So happy for the program, I remember when the team was restarted and the excitement around the future potential of the program. Glad to see the diehards being rewarded. Enjoy guys!!

Tough loss today, 3-1, but GREAT weekend for the Minutemen. The Buckeyes went ahead 2-1 with less than two minutes to go, then iced it with an empty netter. Ohio State outplayed UMass in the first period, but we were with them stride for stride the rest of the game. Fille Lindberg was sensational in goal, and I was really impressed with the two freshmen on defense, Felix and Farmer. UMass had a number of good scoring opportunities, but the Ohio State goalie was excellent. This weekend should easily move UMass into the top 20, I would guess around 16 or 17.

What a game and weekend! Easily a top 10 team in the country! Going be a fun year as long as they continue to stay hungry!

Beating Ohio State twice in two days on their home ice would have been a near impossible feat. I would not have been surprised if they got smoked tonight. Impressive loss if there is such a thing.

Good for them. Bamford clearly knows how to hire quality coaches. And the program appears to have almost immediately been recruiting much better players.

It will be interesting to see if hockey outdraws bball in attendance, as hockey has a much more compelling college schedule coming to UMass.

^^ the student attendance for Hockey was great for the first game of the year.. putting a number in front of their name is only going to draw more.. winning cures all in Amherst

We can't let up against Merrimack. Their primary goalie, Patrano has a 1.21 GAA in 4 games. Their games have mostly been low scoring, but they did beat BU 4-0.
