I thought Cannella might be in hot water but I guess Bamford thinks he is doing ok. Can't beleive that the program is 30-41 over the past five years. After 2006 I was certain we would be top 15 every year.

Extended two years through 2019-20. Good luck Greg and Make the Gorillas Great Again!

They showed life again this year, which is a good thing. The department needs to find a way to get this program more money.

looks like more $ will be put into the program
" ...we are confident that with additional investments in our men's lacrosse program, we will realize regular conference championships and increased national visibility."
I'm guessing if the results don't improve, coach C will be moving on when the contract is up.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

I hope this is true. Nothing better than the Gorillas being a top 10 team!

The full season record for past 5 years is:

2017 -- 7-8
2016 -- 7-6
2015 -- 5-10
2014 -- 4-9
2013 -- 7-8

Unless something really changes, does anyone think we will be better than 5-9 this regular season? I cannot recall a UM MLAX team with less talent, across the board.

"Greg has created a winning culture at UMass and we are excited to support him as our head coach for the foreseeable future," Bamford said. "Under Greg's leadership, we are confident that with additional investments in our men's lacrosse program, we will realize regular conference championships and increased national visibility."

You whiffed on this one Bamford! No reason for future optimism either....

The team has looked better as of lately and their RPI is up 17th. I feel like its been mentioned multiple times on here but has anyone really dug into why we continually lose our best players to transfer?

"Continually" is probably a strong word. There was one year in 2015 where they lost Austin Spencer and Nick Mariano to Hop and Cuse respectively, but that really hasn't happened since.

Occasionally kids make a decision that they want to move on. Not a ton can be done about that, but I think the fact that lax transfers are not required to sit a year is certainly a factor. Players would obviously be more reluctant to transfer if they had to sit in some cases. But at the end of the day if a kid wants to move on, he's almost certainly going to move on.

Team's playing well right now, getting contributions from all over the roster, seniors to freshmen. Hopefully they can keep that going.
