If it is anything like the BBall center it can be a huge recruiting tool to get better players for the fans to watch. I'd rather sit on a stump watching a good to great team than sit on a cushioned seat watching a mediocre team.

Not to mention gameday climate acclimation. For example practicing all week in temperature highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s and then playing at FIU in 80+ degree weather.

Not much of an update in terms of the IPF. Some nuggets of info for other construction on campus but in terms of IPF not much more. At the very least, interesting to look at.

Interesting side note on the field hockey facility is putting in permanent bathrooms there. Close to McGuirk....

I think the financing of it is pretty interesting. As far as I know, this is the second college stadium that is not owned by the university (outside of NFL stadiums). The other being Rentschler Field. Anyone know of any others?

While checking the construction procurement site to see if there was anything new listed about an IPF, I noticed that the Men's Soccer, Women's Lacrosse, Women's Soccer, and Women's Field Hockey are all getting new millwork lockers. 116 lockers in total. That's probably about $175,000, but I could be off since I'm used to NYC prices. haha.

Interesting to see the different barriers schools have to overcome to get sports facilities built. Temple is trying to move forward with an on-campus stadium but is facing serious opposition from the surrounding community while they seem to have the financial part taken care of. On the other hand, UMass has plenty of space in an isolated location away from residential neighborhoods but the finances appear to be quite a ways off.

The Temple proposal actually looks pretty nice; not an easy feat squeezing a stadium into such a congested area: https://sway.com/cZvJU3FggQspJHzs

nyumass08 Regarding checking the construction procurement site, had a thought. Perhaps it's a combination of a fiscal calendar thing and getting finances lined up and will not see it there until after June 30th.
