The only logical explanation is that fireworks must have an expiration date on them and they were expecting a home victory this year... So use them or lose them.

The #134th ranked offense in FBS has to call off the dogs after 3 quarters against us..... And we will close as THE ONLY winless team in FBS...

Just for the record, there are 265 D1 football teams in the country - there are three in total who are winless. UMass is not even a reasonably decent FCS team right now.

I just checked the score this morning and was not surprised by the loss, but was surprised by the magnitude of the loss to a 3-7 team.

"Wheeeee, this is fun!" the UMass fan exclaims as the orderly wheels him down the corridor on the way to his straight jacket fitting.

I’m confident that any UMass FCS team you pick from 1995-2010 would wipe the floor with this current team. Besides the rudderless leadership from the top I have zero confidence in Coach H now. How can it look this much worse than last year? Brown was pretty much checked out from coaching last year but at least that team put up a fight for the entire year. This team gets worse every week. I know our talent is bad but it’s not bad enough to lose 45-3 at home to the next worse team in FBS. I said from the beginning I couldn’t stand some of Coach H’s pressers after games where it sounded like he was passing the buck and throwing his QBs under the bus. I’m fine with calling him a clown until proven otherwise. We can bitch about Bamford all we want but it should never be this bad, it falls at the coach’s feet for the play on the field. Harasymiak needs to take some extreme accountability and start leading this fucking program.

Well hard to spin the narrative here. Umass Football is the joke of all college sports right now. Hard to be positive or even remotely hopeful for this to turn around. Just never figured it out. but again this proves my point of the mediocrity FBS football in New England and the Northeast. Really an unsustainable model for all of these teams. also curious about the argument that FBS football program is needed to "recruit" general students to Umass . Umass has elevated its academic standing the past several years without a good football or basketball team. We will never be a school that has that draw or appeal for kids. its not like the south in the SEC/ACC or midwest w/ the Big10/ Big 12 were the towns are completely taken over on a weekend. thats type of atmosphere that draws kids to those schools. Im sure many of you will disagree.
curious was there really 6 thousand in the seats last night?

that's me spitballing but I would not be surprised if the MAC booted us. The Big East got rid of Temple. The MAC is an FBS conference so there may be some kind of standards re: losing every game.

You must have missed the UConn/Duke game last weekend: 38,000 showed up in East Hartford. The only team I hate is UConn and Jim Mora has done an unbelievable job. UConn is 7-3 and headed to a bowl. But Connecticut is a tiny state without pro sports so they rally around UConn. The state paid for a new stadium in East Hartford just for UConn football.

ya i dont follow it enough. good for them but what has Rutgers , BC. and Uconn done over the past 7 years. maybe 1 or 2 ok seasons. of course they have the big conf payouts so does it really matter for them other than their fan base accepts the mediocre seasons. ( not Uconn as far asconf payouts)
i just think it would be hard for umass to find 30k fans even if it was a brand new stadium . Whats the avg draw for mac football?

If Umass started winning, attendance would pick up .When we were great in basketball in the 90’s Umass was a destination point for fans and policians. Remember the sellouts at-the Mullin Center, tickets being scalped etc. there will be little interest in this program unless we win. I hope this happens, but sure looks bleak now.
