Im at the game. Noah had a huge ice pack on his wrist after the game. Cross looks like he can barely walk on that ankle.

May not get the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas. Murray St is up by 9 with ~11 minutes left.
Give WBB more money.

Not an excuse for offensive rebounds but when is the last time we outnumbered a Power 5 conference team in defensive rebounds by 5+? I am definitely taking that statistic as a positive.
I don’t think comparing defensive rebounds vs defensive rebounds tells you much other than how each team may have shot. Comparing defensive rebounds vs offensive rebounds and vice versa is what tells you how effective you were at rebounding the ball. We weren’t great in that regard today at the defensive end — whether it was long bounces, loose balls or whatever.

We rebounded 61% of Colorado’s misses, which to put in perspective would have ranked 358th out of 358 teams last year. That seems kind of bad no matter what math you use.

I think we competed defensively and wore CU down a bit (they missed some open looks) but we weren’t great rebounding the ball at the defensive end because we had 5 more defensive rebounds than CU did. CU missed 20 more shots…

People will do anything here to get negative after winning against a PAC12 team who just beat a top 15 team.

This board never fails.

One can be happy with a win while also pointing out someone on the board is making a stupid argument. These things are not mutually exclusive. Nor does it mean I am being negative.

It just means I don’t think a defensive rebound rate that would have placed them last year in all of college hoops is something I am sporting pink steel about. I am happy they won and how they competed against a well-coached P5 team that is generally a pretty solid club.

Scoop, it’s ok instead of making a flippant remark like this to just say “Yeah I was wrong about the rebounding. Good points, dude!” I say I’m wrong to my wife all the time. It’s not that hard.

Did you guys actually watch the game or just looked at the stats after the game?

I didn’t see any other posts here saying they had a “doctors appointment”.

Yep I watched the game and at no point did I say “wow we are rebounding the shit out of the ball!”

I don’t post a lot during games because I might say stupid shit.

Good win, although a little too stressful at the end there for my liking. A few thoughts:

- Gapare: Those blocks and altered shots has me excited about what a difference maker he is. Having him and Wildens out there to protect the rim is such a nice change from last year. Once he gets his legs under him and some coaching look out.
- RJ Luis, wow
- Good defensive intensity

I heard Noah say in the post-game interview, that he was coming back from injury this summer and it took him out of his routine. He wasn't able to practice free throws like he normally does.

Nice win, something to build on for sure. Dare I say they looked improved from the Towson game.

This was a character building win, a win that brought this group closer together and instilled some belief that Frank Martin's style can be effective. On to Murray St.
