Kelsey's 180 was a result of learning how many of the players would not be around when school started next fall. This was his personal reason. I heard this third hand, so didn't throw it out there, but it it seems pretty accurate. This is what made me happy that Kelsey bailed. He was obviously angling for a quick success and jump to P5. I don't know how long McCall will stick around, but it might be difficult to succeed initially.
Kelsey's 180 was because of the players but not that they were leaving
Offseason do you know the real reason Kelsey bolted? If so, care to share? And why do you say MM would have to sell his soul to have kept these transfers?
Hire Matt McCall!

So Kelsey told them he loved them when he didn't even like them. Wow, am I glad he's no longer here.

I don't like anything about what Kelsey did, but I can definitely see how a coach can make a blanket statement that he loves his players like his kids, and I can also see that Bamford's assessment of the players may not have been what Kelsey encountered when he met them. I can't believe it was bad enough to not triple his pay and be able to start over and build his own team.

I know what I heard about why Kelsey left but I wouldn't share it on here. MM came in and dealt with a few things and I don't believe he was caught off guard with anyone leaving...he has worked hard with the guys he knew would be staying and hitting the recruiting trails to fill in the holes. My grade for him so far would be an A.

From what I've heard, MM's culture change is very welcome and seems to be going well, with the departures included. Is this your feeling too?

The older players that are working out are happy...they like MM and Davis
