Let's check when the UMass Boston game is...oh cool, Monday Dec. 21. My crystal ball tells me that I will have to pay for that game in my season ticket package, and it will be at around noon on a day when most people are at work. Highway robbery. It shouldn't be the norm, not when you're limited to 10 games because of the lame-ass 22 game MAC conference schedule. Look at BC's OOC schedule, MIT is an exhibition, not a real game. Ryan Bamford decided to make this the norm for us because he can collect ticket revenue for a game that doesn't matter.

Your closing remark is right on the money. This is where we are now. A team that can't even get 10 division 1 games on our schedule. Bamford has killed this program. In the three years prior to his arrival, we went to two NIT's and an NCAA tournament. Since then, nothing, nada, zip, bupkis. We literally went from three straight postseason appearances from 2012-2014 to zero since he set foot on campus in 2015. I'm not yelling at you Mike, I'm just yelling at the clouds.

I posted a few days ago that I'd be happy with the schedule because I was looking forward to Arizona St and Harvard. Those two get dropped and it starts to look pretty damn soft, along with the D3 cash grab.

A D3 Cash grab? Are they paying us? I hope so, because virtually NOBODY is gonna go to that game. It will cost them more to turn on the lights than the revenue that game will "grab".

Eldon, I have to pay for that game in my season ticket package. I won't be able to attend because it'll be on a Monday afternoon. Call it a cash grab, call it stealing, whatever. It's money out of my pocket and in to Ryan's for nothing in return.

What were you hoping for?
Hoop Hall helped us get 2 ACC games in the state.
We're constrained to 10 non-conf games due to the MAC schedule. Blame Ryan Bamford for that.
We're obligated to spending two on the MAC/SBC Challenge. Again, blame Ryan.
At least one D-III game is the norm now.

I'm not eager to play Maine or Stonehill either, but this slate is not at all surprising for a program like ours.
Swap any of those for URI if we could do a home and home with them and we would have 1 decent home game to see. The SBC game looks like the top of the heap right now and that's not saying much. I do blame Bamford for not getting a date for URI. He's had a year to work on it, and I think both coaches are a "yes".

A terrible OOC. UMass will make a ton on money at $262 per ticket for the BC game. Not because of UMass/BC but because UConn Michigan would sell out on their own. Not having URI and Harvard on the schedule but UMass Boston and Stonehil/Maine on the schedule is just plain putting cupcakes on to garnish wins against terrible opponents.

While the OOC schedule leaves a lot to be desired, playing BC at the Garden and being part of a heavyweight doubleheader is a step in the right direction, even if we're the undercard. Hopefully it's the first of many opportunities like it. At the end of the day, get to the Garden and support UMass. Period.

I didn't realize that anybody was forced to buy STs.

Nobody is forced... however, once you do purchase them, you are subject the schedule that the school puts together - you don't get any discounts for games you don't like or want. You know better than that.

Come on Jack. They're a division 1 program, and I expect them to play other division 1 programs. Burying a Division 3 scrimmage on a Monday afternoon at full price is lame, no matter how you slice it.

As an FYI Pat, I already purchased two tickets to the game at TD Bank at $512. Period.

The only reason the UMass BC game at TD Bank is happening is because both BC and UMass are making alit of money piggybacking on UConn Michigan

UMass Harborside is now a "rivalry" are you shitting me??? Mark my words: Marty Meehan and Bamford want UMass amherst to be D2 or lower. I can't believe this............my son is going to Wisconsin and wisc is playing Notre Dame Sept 6th at Lambeau.

You already know the answer. Yes, you'll be paying for that game in your season ticket package. On the preliminary schedule though, that game is slated for 7 PM. Maybe someone in authority realized how bad of an idea it was to have last year's game on Monday at noon, and wised up this year.

I TOTALLY get it. I don't like it either. I'm not expecting the killer non-conf schedules that Cal and Bruiser used to put together. The landscape has changed and we are not an appealing opponent anymore. Both are headwinds, but one is arguably self inflicted with how far we've fallen / allowed ourselves to fall.

Are they though? I think Frank would take the opportunity to play an A10 school, but does Archie want to play a MAC school? At first I thought no, he's on the hot seat and doesn't want to risk a loss to a lesser tier conference. But then someone pointed out that Rhody is playing fellow MAC'er Buffalo
https://keaneyblue.com/viewtopic.php?t=10711
... so there goes my argument about Archie avoiding the MAC.

I'll go with your first assessment: Bamford probably whiffed on the chance.

But there's also this to think about: Does Thorr defecting from Rhody and coming to us complicate things? Is Rhody sore about it and ghosting us? Not out of the realm of possibilities. A UM/URI game would have been much more likely if Thorr was still Rhody's AD.
