Really outstanding person. Got to know him well 20+ years ago.
Mrs SM and the SM were at the inauguration for JVL @ the Rec Center when Henry and his lovely wife came in. He immediately recognized us, so came and spent over 20+ minutes with us before deciding he needed to mingle.
I wore a pair of nice jeans with my best Batman tee and a nice faux leather sports jacket to the black-tie optional event...Henry said he wished he could have come dressed like that.
I told him to do it once and everyone would quickly get used to it.
Henry was a great supporter of UM athletics...
I believe he responded favorably when I asked him to join the now defunct Gridiron Club...at I time when most admins I asked declined to.
