Neutral Zone lists UM as the #2 recruiting class behind Michigan with 15 listed, but does not list Radkov who I have seen listed as a ‘26-‘27 or Farhammer.

RL committed to UM very early and cited the Beanpot as a reason for going to BC…..he didn’t mention winning the Beanpot, which is good because he didn’t and he didn’t mention where Northeastern ( Beanpot winner RL Freshman year ) sat in his options.
I bumped into a guy I know who is very well versed in New England Hockey. We got to talking about players and Ryan's name came up. This person played at one of the beanpot schools and also played in the NHL so I trust what he tells me. There are 2 stories to why Ryan picked BC over us. One is the beanpot explanation and the other is that Carvel pissed off Ryan's father when he benched John a couple of times for lack of hustle and maybe it cost him Hobey Baker votes. My friend says it's a combination of the 2. He said if you are a player on one of the beanpot teams, it is a huge experience playing in it. National exposure because the finals are on a Monday night when nothing else is going on. He knows John and John told him his family encouraged him to go to school in Boston. He didn't say BC specifically, just Boston.

I think the “affluent town” moniker fits many hockey towns!

Both towns have what are considered robust youth hockey programs, with youth hockey associations serving and 375-400 participants each.

Explain how your college players comment fits in here.

^ Absolutely no information in the financial status of either town ; and not going to
investigate; so I figured that when they were mentioned it was to
refute the Affluent comment and their link to elite hockey was
through a connection to two Minnesota State Colleges.
If Amherst , MA is a “hockey town”, it because of the
Minutemen. As a point of
Reference, there is NO Public HS Hockey in Springfield!
The “ Carpet Bagger” line was bragging to prove
that I paid attention in US History ( will admit that tree wasn’t as much of it “back in the day” ….
