I don't agree with the idea that we need to find/replace/have guys who can score lots of points. Frank's teams here generally haven't had a problem scoring, the problem has been that they don't score efficiently and they play shit defense. Give me a low scoring team that is an efficient offensive team that plays at a slower pace and on the defensive end makes the opponent inefficient over a team that scores a lot of points.

This past season averaged 80.2 points (79th our of 365) and had a 17/16 record.

The year before averaged 72.9 points (207 our of 364) and had a 12/20 record.

You need to be able to score. This team does not have anyone that can shoot a 3 point shot (unless the freshmen come thru)

I remember the Lappas years. Low scoring games and the record wasn't very good. On top of that, the games were boring as hell, with the exception of 1 amazing game. If you don't know what that was, you need to brush up on UM BB history.

Very different game now. But, Houston shows teams can be held in the low 60s. I think there are also some other non P5 teams as well that keep opponents in the 60s. We are not place that gets well rounded multidimensional players any more. Parker had a lower DBPM than Jayden showing that even thought he scored a ton, his defense was mediocre at best. Not saying I want five Jayden's on the floor, but even though probably not pretty offensively, it would be more successful than five Parkers. The issue is Frank hasn't been able to get five guys to work together or that complement each other skill wise. I think with enough returnees it will be better, though, next year.

I’m surprised more good players don’t want to come play for an 8th place team in the dynamic MAC. Weird.

... and get embarrassingly undressed during games in front of a 25% full arena.

That's why it's smart to focus on international players. They hear the volume, but don't understand what's being yelled at them. Using the language barrier to your advantage is next level chess from the maestro.

Apparently we weren’t done. Junjie Wang 6’9” F from San Francisco. He took an official visit to Indiana during the portal process.

^ terrific news. There's our 4 man. Need a high level 3 and D SG, and we'll be in good shape.

This is a good development. He really lit up Pepperdine last year.

Still going to need help from Freshmen.

Well that makes me feel a little better about the roster than I did yesterday, but I'm still concerned with where the scoring is going to come from.

I am onboard with Clayton since he was a big 4 guy who played a lot. After the last 2 transfer announcements plus Rollie, I don’t think I could be more down on the team for next year
