BC just fired their Women's BB coach. Mike is a BC grad. You can do the math. Whether they actually reached out to him or not is a question to which we may never know the answer, but the possibility certainly existed. I think the powers that be at UMass didn't want to risk it and took proactive steps to keep him, but it's possible there were overtures of which they were aware. I have no inside information, but that's my sense of the situation.

If that’s the case it may have been one of Bamford few good decisions

I am definitely on the side of this being a great decision.

BC hires Kate Popovec-Goss as their new womens basketball coach. 44-86 in 4 years at Bradley. That's the best they can do. Of course she comes with her husband Ollie Goss as her assistant coach.

Wow. It feels like Mike would have been a big upgrade over this. I'm feeling very fortunate right now we were able to retain him.

Yr 1 - 4
Yr 2 - 6
Yr 3 - 14
Yr 4 - 20

That is how the 44 wins came. Just to put it in perspective.

I mean...that's not bad, right? First couple of years you can be expected to struggle. An improvement by year 3 and then continued into year 4 are what you want to see. Our best coach, Carvel, was 22-49-2 after 2 seasons before absolutely crushing it in year 3.
