Transfer Portal 2026

Post by 69MG » Tue Mar 10, 2026 5:01 pm

You can't enter the portal yet, but according to VerbalCommits.com you can announce your intention to transfer. I'm only looking at the MAC (including UNI) and 3 players have made the announcement. They are all guards and pretty good players.

UNI - Walters (Fr) 8.5 points, 5.4 boards, 38% from 3
UNI- Valentine (So) 13.3, 5.3, 36%
Ball State - Hill (So) 14.0, 4.4, 34%

^ He's applying for a waiver to get 1 more year. America East Defensive Player of the Year. That ought to get Frank's attention. That, and the fact that he averaged less than 2 fouls per game. It's early, however, and there will be hundreds of decent players available. I'd prefer someone who "might" give us 2 years or more.

I think he'd be a grad transfer, only played three years so far.

Amir Lindsey from same team, Framingham native, also in portal... https://www.espn.com/mens-college-baske ... ir-lindsey

I think we have five slots available and wouldn't mind giving two of them to the Albany pair.

^ We have 5 freshmen signed, so all of the "known" slots are filled. Not to worry, there will be plenty of spots available for transfers once the portal officially opens on April 7.

I like Lindsey, but if Danny stays and Hailey comes in, we would have 3 guards under 6 feet. If Danny leaves, I would take Lindsey no question. Almost 5 assists per game on a team that only scored 72 points a game.

New rules, for the better. The time to enter the portal is between April 7 and April 21, just 15 days. If a coach leaves, a new 15 day window opens for that team.

We need a D1 center and I stumbled across this guy un the pre-portal. He played for Charlotte in The American Conference, so pretty good competition. He's 7'2 and I have no idea where Vanuatu is. I looked at OOC games, and he went for 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks against Davidson and then went for 15 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks against Virginia Tech.

Do we have enough $$ to get this guy to switch from left coast to right coast? I doubt it, but we can dream.
The leader in blocks in Division I men's basketball will enter the transfer portal.

Kyle Evans intends to transfer from UC-Irvine, according to 247Sports and recruiting analyst Sam Kayser of League Ready. Prior to UC-Irvine, Evans was a Colorado State player from 2022-24.

The 6-foot-10 Evans had 115 blocks this season, which led all of Division I. His 3.3 blocks per game is well-clear of second-place 2.9 blocks per game (Ugonna Onyenso of Virginia).

Playing 29 minutes per game for the Big West regular season champions, Evans averaged 12.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He shot 62% from the field.

Evans was First-Team All-Big West and the Big West Defensive Player of the Year in 2025-26.
