Brief conference tournament primer where the writer says Akron grades out as a better team than Miami, predicts they will win the tournament, and the MAC will get 2 bids. Also has good stuff on other conferences if you have other rooting/watching interests.
You have to scroll a bit to get to the MAC section, or ctrl+F and search for it.

ACC Men are in Charlotte. ACC Women were in Duluth GA last week.Berkman wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 7:53 pm The ACC men and women tournament is in Charlotte going on now. On the new tonight they said that the tournament brings in 75 million to the area business.
And the ACC Men's tourney is a bit apples and oranges to the MAC. ACC does 15 teams in 5 days, MAC does 8 in 3.

I know I stated that before, but worth repeating for future MAC Championship trips: Cleveland is actually not that bad of a city. It's not the shithole rust belt city that you'd expect it to be like Buffalo or Toledo. The downtown area is vibrant, the waterfront is decent, it has the Rock Hall (a must visit) and Canton isn't that far if you want to visit the Pro Football HOF. It's certainly not a must visit destination, but as far as places to go, Cleveland isn't that bad.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

all 5 Miami starters are on the all-conference vs. 2 from UMass. Congrats to Leo and Marcus. And Danny for making the frosh team

This is true... All cities have their "bad spots", but overall Cleveland is not bad at all.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 1:09 pm I know I stated that before, but worth repeating for future MAC Championship trips: Cleveland is actually not that bad of a city. Over-use of the word crucial in our section, but any coverage is better than no coverage, and we'll take it.

Re: Game 32, 2025-26: Miami (MAC Quarters, 3/12)
When I first graduated, I travelled a lot for work and went to Cleveland a few times. I think the downtown area is a lot better now, with the R&R Hall of Fame, etc. than it was then.
I do recall being there a week or so after the disastrous 10 cent beer night at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, fondly called "The Mistake on the Lake". Fans got so drunk they charged the field and disrupted the game so badly it was called off and the Indians had to forfeit the game.
Google "10 cent beer night" for more details.

Ah, so charging $15 per beer at games is an altruistic measure to keep fans in line. Once alcohol is given away for practically free, we lose all control.
