Game 10, 2025-26: Boston College @ Mass Mutual (12/10)
Re: Game 10, 2025-26: Boston College @ Mass Mutual (12/10)
Just an observation. Wimbley's +/- for the game was -16. While most of it was because he was on the court for BC's second half run, he was still -5 even excluding that. He obviously is a freshman with talent and did a few good things but it is concerning that Frank has concluded that he is the best option he has for that spot right now.

I don’t think he was on the court for all of it, but he made some bad plays with the ball and got blown by multiple times. He’s never going to be a shooter, so his path to success is good defense and steady offense, always making the smart play. I like his game and think this will be a good learning experience for him. At least he didn’t have to learn like Trey Davis at VCU.Floyd wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:23 am One thing I didn't like was our breaking of their press/pressure after a basket. We looked slow & unsure where to be. Caused a lot of havoc for us, gotta be better or teams will slow us down.
Danny struggled a bit, but he's only 10 games into his freshman year. Hes pretty consistent with handling the ball and is good at finding the open man. Doesn't force much. Hopefully his shot will come around, he's digging in on D too. If K'Jei can continue to produce there as well, we should be fine.
Love to get the W in this next one
He needs to be the Kerry Herer of this team. Almost no offense - just take care of the ball, get it to the scorer's and play good defense. He should almost only be scoring by accident.

Stop lying your ass off including the crumbling stadium etc. What I have said is the A10 does not provide the revenue for Athletics. It is the closets geographical conference to the A10 that will take us. That they are public universities like us.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 8:32 am
Why do you do this? I'm happy we finally moved out of the A10, but the MAC sucks. Stop trying to tout it as if it's the best conference in history.
Be proud of the present and look to the future. There is ZERO path to the ACC and even the AAC in the A10. Use this a lot. UConn men's and women's basketball teams have multiple National Championships and can not get into the ACC, so we have ZERO chance in the A10.
Independence is a death trap that we lived through and the results hurt. Back to basketball, the MAC has some good teams in basketball. They have some good teams in other sports and even sports that neither the A10 have or the MAC sponsor.
I know first hand the character of head hunters (old slang for IT recruiters). I assume your character will not change and continue to lie your ass off at my expanse. It's amazing what some people do.
Steve - you clearly are a stranger to hyperbole regarding the best conference in history part.
Also, you've sat in McGuirk, same as me, you know for a fact that it the concrete is crumbling. Who is the one lying?
You went out of your way to post a photo of the MAC logo in a basketball thread to try and further your fight with the basketball only fans. You should really talk to someone.

Sorry Steve, I get that you're excited about having a football conference, but this is pathetic. Are you a UMass fan or a MAC conference fan? We win a big rivalry game against BC, an in-state rival that has avoided us for years, and your impulse is to post a MAC flag? Sorry if this offends, but it's so insanely weird.
Thank you. Be careful, Steve is going to find out what you do for work and take shots at you.

Hey Steve81, keep people's professions off the message board. I am sure INV is VERY Good at his line of work but there is no need for name calling when it comes to people's careers.
Gruden to UMass LFG

He missed 2 shots right at the basket. He was not alone in that regard tho.BR72 wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 12:00 pm Just an observation. Wimbley's +/- for the game was -16. TURNOVERS! BC scored 22 pts off ours while we only scored 3 off theirs.
Plus FREETHROWS - There are 353 Division 1 Men's College Basketball teams.
UMass as a team has a Free Throw Average of 64.2% which is a ranking of 327
Gotta improve both areas!

Saw Bill Curley in a BC gym w/a friend when I was 13. He offered a 2-1 game to 21. His 3s counted as ones and any shot we made counted as 3. He beat 21-0. He was a good dude, afterwards he asked us our shoe sizes and came back with new Reebok pumps for us. We were pumped.ZooMass84 wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 4:14 pmha ha I saw us play BC at the Centrum when Billy Curley was there December 29, 1990 we wondoubledribble wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 3:50 pm TURNOVERS! What's crazy about that is Parker and Banks are really at FTs. Once we get into the bonus, run all the plays for them!doubledribble wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 3:50 pm TURNOVERS! BC scored 22 pts off ours while we only scored 3 off theirs.

I wonder sometimes whether it's worth fouling a poor shooter during 1-and-1 time. Analytics might say do it, but no coach ever does. Parker (94%) and Banks (82%) are excellent, but it would be risky fouling Leo (70%) or Jayden (60% for the year, but 9 of his last 10). DHS's 52% is a big issue, and Carbuccia's woeful 25% is even bigger. Clerc's 44% needs improvement.Plano Minuteman wrote: Thu Dec 11, 2025 4:51 pmWhat's crazy about that is Parker and Banks are really at FTs. Last week I posted about being annoyed that UMass spent recent seasons ranked 5th in our state, behind BC, Harvard, Lowell and NorthEastern. It was true early last week again, but after beating 3 of them we could be #1. Nothing like the great times being #1 in New England, but getting better.
